I have been appointed in the department of architecture @AUC and am now based in Cairo. Egypt feels like home. The hospitality of Egyptians has diminished my confidence that Jordanians are the premier hosts. I cant believe a semester has already elapsed. aucegypt.edu/fac/aya-musmar

حق الشعب الفلسطيني في تقرير مصيره يتضمن حقه بالتحرر من الإحتلال وحقه باختيار السلطة التي تحكمه، لماذا يصعب على القاصي والداني فهم هذه البديهية حين يتعلق الأمر بغزة!!

تعسف السلطات هذا ليس بجديد؛ كثيرا ما تكرر لتهشيم إرادة الجماهير، شهدناه مع نقابة المعلمين، وتكرر في كل مرة خرج فيها الناس لمطلب معيشي أو لمطالب اصلاح سياسي أو تنديدا بتطبيع. قد تخفت وتيرة التظاهرات تحت وطأة البطش، لكن الثابت أن بوصلة الأردنيين لا تحيد عن الحق. #الحرية_للمعتقلين

المظاهرات تمسك أخير بأنه لازال في العروق قليل من حياء ومروءة ترفض أن تمر جرائم الإحتلال دون صرخة غضب؛ هذا الفعل (التافه) تضيق به السلطات ذرعا؛ فلا تمانع تحميل الشباب ثمنا باهظا نظير هذا الغضب، ولا تمانع أن تنتهك الحقوق وتصادر الحريات وتخرق القانون. #الحرية_للمعتقلين

وفق أحكام المادة ٢ من قانون المقاطعة الإقتصادية يستطيع مجلس الوزراء إعلان دولة ما معادية ويحظر التعامل معها. ان كانت ما تفعله إسرائيل في غزة غير كاف لإعلانها دولة معادية، يمكن له تفعيل المادة ٣ من ذات القانون بإعلان المقاطعة الكلية أو الجزئية. ما نطلبه كأردنيين تطبيق القانون فقط.

غاية التظاهرات والمتظاهرين واضحة وليس لهم عدو إلا الإحتلال. نقطة وانتهى الانشغال بالرد على حملات تشويه التظاهرات الداعمة لغزة والمتظاهرين لا تفيد إلا من تزعجه المظاهرات وزخمها، و تصرف النظر عن المسألة الأهم وهي قطع كافة أشكال تطبيع العلاقات مع الإحتلال.

My memory falls short at counting the times when I frowned on the moral hypocrisy this world performs whenever Palestinians are the subject of Israeli persecution. Frowning is a collective act because we Palestinians still have hope in humanity, but humanity keeps at failing us.

Breaking News: A 7-floor residential building was hit half an hour ago in 🍓city. It is full of people. Most of them are under the rubble.

Hi Aron, You have no idea who I am, and I had no idea who you are, but It saddens me that you are gone and you won't read this message in person; I'm sure that you are in a better place where you are watching us from above and feeling the love that surrounded your death. None of us wanted you to die; none of us wanted you to have anything less than a happy life. Your death was a tragedy, and If I could have stopped that spark that ended your life, I would have done it, but you found your answers. I couldn't watch you die; I stopped the video after knowing that you care about Palestinian lives; I couldn't watch someone that brave, pure and humane dying in front of me. It saddens me that even in your death, the reason was not mentioned by the same newspapers in the U.S. which couldn't name the killer of almost 30k Palestinians, this time as you have taken your own life, they left the reason blank, which contradicts the basic 5 questions of this job, our job journalism. But, these newspapers mean nothing to us, Palestinians; they are nothing but complicit in the crimes committed against us. You will always be remembered as we remember Rachel Corrie; you will always be remembered as a brave soul who couldn't listen to more lies and couldn't be part of a genocide, a brave soul we wished to be among us now. I personally wished you nothing but a speed recovery when you were in the hospital to see you one day in Palestine. Rest in peace, Aron; you have found your answers.

Before I sleep, Death is always sitting on my windowsill, whether in Gaza or Cairo. Even when I lived in a tent, it never failed to create a window for itself. It looks me in the eye and recounts to me the many times it let me live. When I respond, “but you took my loved ones away from me!” it swallows the light in the room and hides in the dark to visit the next day, just in time.

In Gaza, the earth is raining us towards the sky.
