A $181K Pokémon auction flipped into a $236K “instant sale” right after the winning bidder allegedly didn’t pay. That alone is raising eyebrows in the high end hobby space. The MBA Black Diamond Black Label Bubble Mew reportedly ended at around $181,000. Shortly after, it was claimed the winning bidder failed to complete payment. The card was then relisted and quickly sold again for approximately $236,000. This all involves Ryan Card House and their handling of the auction process. According to an employee clarification, the original winner may have even bid up to $350K before backing out, which makes the final pricing narrative even harder to reconcile. The issue here is not just the individual transaction, but what it suggests about how high end auctions are being handled. If there were any prior agreements, guarantees, or undisclosed fallback pricing expectations, that would interfere with true price discovery instead of being explained after the fact. That is where concern comes in. Without the infrastructure and safeguards of established marketplaces like Goldin, ALT, or eBay, high end sales can start to distort rather than reflect real demand. Whether everything here is above board or not, the lack of transparency is exactly what erodes trust in the space. People need clean auctions. Not outcomes that require explanation after the fact. #Pokemon #PokemonTCG #BubbleMew

It wasn't showing up in my algorithm. Not sure about everyone else's, but if anyone was interested, there's a $36k listing for it here.

📈 Most people pay attention after the move. A few pay attention before it. Seeing someone who already has 2 Red Manga Luffys actively searching for 1 more to make it 3 has me curious. 👀 Could be nothing. Could be a vendor doubling down. Could be a sign that confidence is growing behind the scenes. What do you think is really going on?

🚨 45K PRIVATE TRADE CONFIRMED I can confirm both buyer and seller are reputable, and the seller is a major vendor in the NYC area. Deal is fully confirmed. RED MANGA LUFFY just set a NEW ALL TIME HIGH at $45,000 in a private sale. What it moved for is absolutely insane: OP05 LUFFY MANGA PSA 10
SHINY RAYQUAZA PONCHO PSA 10
SERIAL SHANKS PSA 10 This is a major shift, not a normal trade. No listings. No public bidding war. Just pure conviction at the top. Market will catch up late. #OnePieceTCG #OnePiece

@djmirage23 I’d love to get back to you on that. I want to run it by a few friends in the vending scene first and hear their thoughts before I give a solid answer. 😳

I get why it might come across that way, but I don’t see it as manipulation. I’m not coordinating anything or trying to push people one way. I’m just sharing what I’m seeing in the market and how I’m thinking about it, like pull rates, supply, and demand. I actually chose to be more public so there are receipts and people can judge my accuracy over time. I’ve only gained about 300 followers recently, so I don’t think I’m really moving markets. People can agree or disagree, and that’s totally fine.

@pollakrhmn Bit of manipulation, by you and everyone else. Which is fine, it's part of every single hype cycle for every single type of collectible out there. Red Luffys are still amazing and will be worth $100k in no time, but that doesn't mean we need to rush there.

🚨 THIS is what real price discovery looks like. A $3,000 EB03 Heroines Edition Special Alt Art Boa Hancock PSA 10 just got bought. Not listed. BOUGHT. And almost immediately, the active auction jumped to $3,150. Think about that for a second. Someone had the chance to buy one at $3,000... Missed it... And is now bidding MORE in a public auction with days still remaining. The next copy available is sitting at $3,500. Does that get cleared too? 👀🔥

Meanwhile, while we spent the last 5 years staring at crypto charts 📈😂 One Piece and Pokémon collectors quietly watched their grails go absolutely parabolic. Different roads, same goal. But man... some of these card gains have been unreal 😭🔥

EB03 Heroines Edition Special Alt Art Boa Hancock PSA 10 is officially in price discovery 🚨 ebay.us/m/X7ld2Q All time high was $2,200 just days ago, but recent sales have already printed $2,500+ with ease. Now there is a live auction at 2,750 with 3 days still left and momentum is still building. Market is still chasing this one. Big thank you to @point_onefive for convincing me to pick this up!

@obiwonkanoobie Agreed, private sales are definitely an indicator. Not the full picture, but they usually signal where public comps are heading next.

Red Manga Luffy is currently in negotiations. The power of this hobby is simple. When you own the grail, you control the trade. I’m not even sure if I’ll take the deal yet, but if I don’t, I may pass it to my friend to close instead. This would be a crazy ATH if it goes through, and I think people will adjust once this news goes public. Nothing is final yet, but I’ll make everything public once it’s completed. 👀

@Champizard14 Back then my dad was literally telling me to stop and just buy gold lol. Buying 8 cases and sitting on them in my early 20s wasn’t an obvious play since it was a real risk. Way easier to frame it now than it was 5 years ago.

@pollakrhmn Was this really considered a bad investment lol? I was collecting sealed then too and even then, Evolving came off as a no brainer play

This is a receipt from December 2021. 8 cases of Evolving Skies. Not boxes. Cases. Do you know the level of conviction it took to spend over $5,000 on sealed Pokémon product back then? People thought prices were crazy. People thought there were better opportunities. People said it was too late. I was fortunate, I was early, and most importantly I had conviction. Nearly 5 years later, that $5,000 investment is worth close to $100,000 and I still haven't sold a single case. The point isn't to brag. The point is that every great collectible market looks expensive to most people before it looks obvious. That's why I believe so strongly in One Piece. We're still early. Behind every market cap, chart, and price movement is a community. One Piece has one of the most passionate fanbases in the world, and some of the strongest collectors I've ever seen. The community is still growing.
The player base is still growing.
The collector base is still growing. Question everything. Do your own research. Build your own conviction. But don't underestimate what can happen when a truly great IP meets a passionate collector community. #OnePieceTCG #OnePiece

Yesterday, Red Manga Luffy was changing hands around $30,000. Today? It just sold for $35,000! Now there are only TWO major public listings I can find. $50,000.
$62,000. Think about that for a second. Not 10 listings.
Not 5 listings.
Two. That's not "low supply." That's near zero liquidity. After traveling to card shows throughout New York and Florida, I've noticed the same thing over and over again. Most vendors don't even display this card. It's usually sitting in a personal collection, locked in a case, or being used as trade bait because they don't actually want to sell it. And when one does become available, the owner usually has all the leverage. A vendor might sticker one at $37,000 while only valuing incoming trade slabs at 80% of market value. That means a collector would need to hand over roughly $46,250 worth of cards just to get the deal done. But here's what many people overlook: That advantage isn't exclusive to vendors. Collectors can create the exact same leverage. I've seen people acquire collections through Facebook Marketplace, Instagram, and local deals at 70-80% of market value because sellers want cash, convenience, or a quick exit. Then they consolidate that discounted inventory into a grail card. When you own a card that everybody wants and almost nobody can find, you're no longer just benefiting from appreciation. You're operating from a position of strength. That's how powerful ownership becomes when supply dries up. Now let's talk about why. At roughly $6,279 per case, the Red Manga tier is estimated to fall around 1 in every 20-30 cases. Since that hit is split between Luffy, Ace, and Sabo, you're looking at roughly 60-90 sealed cases on average just to pull a Red Manga Luffy. Then comes grading. Across PSA, BGS, and CGC, there are 590 graded copies. 234 PSA 10s.
17 BGS Black Labels.
73 BGS 10s.
1 CGC Pristine 10. After accounting for the cards that have already achieved equivalent or higher gem grades elsewhere, the effective PSA 10 conversion rate works out to about 46.89%. Combine that with the pull odds, and it statistically takes around 128-192 sealed cases to produce a PSA 10 Red Manga Luffy. That's approximately $804,000 to $1.2 million worth of sealed product. Read that again. $804,000 to $1.2 million. And people are surprised there aren't many available? For everyone worried about reprints, I think they're focusing on the wrong thing. Even if more product enters the market, we have more sealed collectors today than ever before. A huge amount of inventory is being intentionally locked away by collectors and investors who have no plans to open it. Sealed product is being withheld from the market at a level we've never really seen before. Meanwhile, demand for the Three Brothers remains massive. Ace.
Sabo.
Luffy. Same pull rate barrier. If scarcity is similar across all three, then demand becomes the deciding factor. And it's hard to argue that any character in One Piece commands more demand than Luffy. My opinion? Red Manga Luffy at $50,000 isn't the crazy prediction anymore. The real question is whether people will look back a year from now and wonder why they didn't buy one when they were still available under six figures. Where do you see Red Manga Luffy priced by the end of the year? #OnePieceTCG #OnePiece

Don’t be afraid to disagree with me. Question my takes. Challenge my assumptions. Ask me why I believe what I do. It’s easy to sound smart and look like you know everything when the entire market is pumping. Anyone can look like a genius in a bull run. What matters is building conviction and confidence through discussion, research, and understanding the why behind a position. Nobody is a guru in the One Piece space. We’re all learning, adapting, and trying to make sense of a market that continues to evolve. Everyone wants to be a One Piece collector when the hype is at its peak, but who was really here in the beginning? Who was here when nobody was paying attention? The best knowledge comes from people sharing different perspectives and challenging each other's ideas. So don’t just agree with me. Push back. Ask questions. Let’s have the conversation. We all have something to teach, and we all have something to learn.
