My app didn't start growing when I improved the product.
It started growing when I improved the marketing.
Here's the exact playbook:
1. I thought my problem was the app.
2. It wasn't.
3. Nobody knew it existed.
4. I spent weeks improving features.
5. Revenue barely moved.
6. Then I started posting content every day.
7. Same app.
8. Same paywall.
9. Same onboarding.
10. Different distribution.
11. Downloads exploded.
12. Revenue followed.
13. Most founders keep building in silence.
14. The market doesn't reward the best product.
15. The market rewards the product people actually see.
16. Distribution is the multiplier.
Most founders have a distribution problem disguised as a product problem.
Since all you see on this app are 100k MRR months in the first month
I'll be the first one to share the losses too
If you've been through this before, drop what fixed it in the comments
Everyone is reaching $100 MRR, $1K MRR, or even $10K MRR
But every time my app reaches $15 MRR, again it falls back to $0 MRR
I don't know when this $15 MRR curse will finally break
after digging deeper, I found the real issue:
lo was up, but missing the 127.0.0.1/8 address.
So every upstream using 127.0.0.1 failed.
Fixed it with:
sudo ip addr add 127.0.0.1/8 dev lo
After restarting my VPS, all Nginx reverse proxy services started returning 504 Gateway Time-out.
The backend process was running, the port was listening, but Nginx kept timing out when connecting to 127.0.0.1.
My water tracker's icon V1 vs V23.
We both grew together. Me as a developer and the app as a product.
No matter how the launch goes, I'll always be proud of my little app. Here's to Water Tracker Wellness.
@CarlosBBuild@farrux_hewson Thanks bro, I really appreciate it.
I’ll keep improving it and see how it performs over time.
I’ll definitely reach out again later for your feedback.
It’s pretty good, I would add an app preview. So when I was scrolling the AppStore one day, one of the apps started moving and I was like woah. So I added one to mine.
I would also challenge you to make another icon. It’s just a T with rays coming out of it. People are going to install it on their phone. Make it pretty.
