The polling day, if it falls mid-week, then ECI should declare holiday for three days. Else slot it on a weekend giving enough time for public to travel. The current system is designed to let people down.

@i_sreenivas The election staff were overwhelmed and wanted him to cast his vote soon and move away. Responsibility lies with policemen who allowed so many people inside...

Feel bad for Rajinikanth. Man cannot vote in peace. Last time the media captured him pressing the EVM button and even today the election staff kind of saw his vote. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs would be well within its rights to call Amb. Gor in and ask if the US President agrees with the posted letter that India is a “hellhole” (p.1) or that India is attempting through migrants to turn the US into its “colony” (p.2).
Christopher Clary@clary_co

The US president published a four-page screed presumably from one of his political admirers to his Truth Social account. It is filled with anti-Chinese and anti-Indian animus.

EVM malfunction delayed polling by nearly two hours at a booth in #Mettupalayam constituency. Officials said no issues were found during mock poll, but the control unit developed a fault before voting began. The machine was rectified and polling commenced around 9am. @THChennai

No one turned up to cast their vote in Nanguneri Perumpathu village, where BC & SC residents boycotted election condemning the March 2 sickle attack by seven casteist history-sheeters, which left two dead & six injured. As many as 974 voters reside in the village. Residents claim that no higher officials held a talk with them. #ElectionsWithTNIE @xpresstn @NewIndianXpress

It would be appropriate for the ECI to show the same level of interest in installing extra fans in polling booths as it has demonstrated for SIR. It is appalling to see election duty officers paying for fans out of their own pockets. #TamilnaduLegislativeAssemblyelection2026

As of now Dalits of Vengaivayal in Pudukkottai are firm in their stand to boycott the elections. Over 100 voters who are there in village under Gandarvakottai(SC) constituency. Officials said two weeks before the peace talks failed and said they will still persuade them to vote. Last 2024 election they took a similar stand however they were convinced to cast their votes. #ElectionsWithTNIE @xpresstn @NewIndianXpress

People claim thousands struggle to reach their native places from Chennai to cast their votes. Governments' focus on Chennai & keeping everything 700km away from South costs people their very basic democratic voting rights. Tamil Nadu needs a second capital.
