The polling day, if it falls mid-week, then ECI should declare holiday for three days. Else slot it on a weekend giving enough time for public to travel. The current system is designed to let people down.

ஆட்டோ கண்ணாடி திருப்புனா எப்படி வண்டி ஓடும் became real! This all stems from the silly notion that millions of people work in Chennai because it’s the capital of the state. It’s the other way around.. Chennai is the capital because millions of people come to there to make it their home for over a century now. If you want Nellai to become a second capital, it first has to attract millions of people to live and work there. For that to happen, it has to get out of the feudal societal system and its big wigs have to start becoming modern entrepreneurs employing the youth of Thirunelveli. You cannot remain feudal casteist society and aspire to be a capital.

As of now Dalits of Vengaivayal in Pudukkottai are firm in their stand to boycott the elections. Over 100 voters who are there in village under Gandarvakottai(SC) constituency. Officials said two weeks before the peace talks failed and said they will still persuade them to vote.
