OWU: Conceptually Thinking Basketball — JUCO ELITE @JaidynElam Jaidyn Elam (2024) — South Georgia Technical College | 5’11 Guard High-motor rebounding guard with real defensive disruption, role elasticity, and a JUCO profile that travels because it is built on hard-value traits. Elam’s evaluation starts with what is most difficult to fake. At 5’11, she is producing like a frontcourt contributor while being rostered as a guard. Ranking third in the GCAA at 9.6 rebounds per game and second in total blocks with 31 immediately changes the conversation. That is not cosmetic versatility. That is possession control, defensive event creation, and physical edge showing up over a 25-game sample. Offensively, her current profile reads as complementary force rather than perimeter-dependent specialist. She is South Georgia Tech’s third-leading scorer with 300 points, and the 74 percent free throw mark, second in the conference, matters because it suggests touch, composure, and some scoring sustainability. The 29-point, 14-rebound Player of the Week performance against Andrew College confirms ceiling access. The 17-point, 11-rebound double-double against Albany Tech confirms she can still generate impact without carrying primary usage. The projection question is clear. Her rebounding and shot-blocking from a guard slot already translate as winning traits. The uncertainty sits in offensive scalability. Without verified three-point volume, turnover data, or assist profile, it is premature to overstate her as a floor-spacing wing or secondary initiator. Under OWU standards, that remains open. What is not open is her value to the JUCO ecosystem. Prospects like Elam raise the standard of JUCO evaluation because they force the market to reward translatable substance over empty scoring. Rebounding, rim-adjacent defense, free throw touch, and multi-role functionality are exactly the traits serious programs should hunt. The @coachbeechum Verdict: Jaidyn Elam is the kind of JUCO prospect winning staffs respect early. She gives you effort that scales, physicality that holds, and defensive utility that survives role changes. If the perimeter shot and ball-handling profile prove functional, her pathway expands. Even now, the foundation is real. This is not a stats-only player. This is a transfer archetype with structural value. #OWUEvalDay #ConceptuallyThinking #BuiltDifferent #PlayerTrustNetwork #ScoutingTruths [@PGHBrooks ] [@NXTPROG] [@JrAllStarBB] [] [@IGBRcoverage [@WorldExposureWB] [@_BlakeDerrick] [@WKGameBall] [@EconAdjunct] [@FiveStateHoops] [@OWUTALENT ][@PGHiowa ] [@JrAllStariowa ] @gemsinthegym

Game 6: Westfield Prep & Chandler Park Academy played close through the 1st 10 minutes with a couple of lead changes. But Westfield Prep picked up their defensive intensity & held them scoreless for more than 8 minutes while scoring 28 to turn a slim 1-pt lead into a 40-11 lead; they went on to win 59-25. While their young guard trio--sophs McKenzie Ainsworth & Kazyia Forrest, & fr Ava Parker--made life miserable for CPA's ball handlers & pushed tempo in transition, CPA had no answer for Westfield Prep's forward duo of 5'10" sr Ashli Wright (pictured-r) & 6'2" fr Brooklyn Robinson (pictured-l), who combined for 35 points, 18 rebounds, & 8 steals. Wright combined her physical driving skills with great finishing around the basket while also cleaning up the boards for a 20-&-12 double-double. Robinson added 15-&-6 with 5 steals & 4 blocked shots; she showcased her versatility in being able to score with her back to the basket, off the break while rim running, & off the face up while showing good hands in traffic & good touch around the basket. 5'10" sr Alvion Williams led CPA in points (16), rebounds (6), steals (5), assists (2), & blocked shots (2), while also having to do a lot of ball handling against their pressure.
