We built the best chip design engine in the world!! 🥳🥳
@archgen_ is currently ranked #1 on the @WeAreHRT / Partcl Macro Placement Challenge 2026 leaderboard.
Macro placement is one of the hardest problems in physical design.
It involves placing large fixed-size blocks such as SRAMs, IPs, and analog macros on a chip floorplan while balancing, wirelength, density, congestion, routability, timing and constraints.
After months of research and iteration our submission reached a verified rank-1 with an average proxy cost of 0.9507 across the IBM benchmark suite.
@naveen_venk and @JishnuMada86596 burned the midnight oil to build an optimization flow that combined fast local repair, multi-start search, congestion-aware ranking, GPU-accelerated candidate generation and strict legality checks to reach the top spot. (detailed blog in the comments)
Grateful to Madhusudan S, Abhishek Lal, and Anant Gulati for their valuable suggestions and inputs to help us overcome issues in EDA algorithms, traditional macro placement algorithms and GPU optimisation.
If you are working on physical design and want to understand how AI, self learning agents, loops, and GPU-accelerated optimisation can improve your flows please feel to reach out to us.
Thank you @Willschips, Vamshi Balanaga and the Partcl team for organising this competition.

"don't tell them about the pivot"
that was the advice. from almost everyone. right before my YC interview.
i applied when RAETH was building RL envs for quant finance.
and that business was airtight. what it was. who it was for. why me. why now. a $20K pilot contract. every box YC (or any early-stage VC) draws, checked.
one problem.
it was not the business i wanted to build for the next 10-20 years.
just two weeks before the interview, i pivoted. to building the first agentic exchange. i don't have full clarity on what it is yet. but it excites me to the core.
the suggested play was easy. walk in and read the RL env story. every word true fourteen days ago. get in and announce the pivot after the fact.
i first applied to YC in 2019 when blackrose was in its soul searching phase. this was my second shot. had i stuck to the script, i most likely would've gotten in.
but i told them about the pivot instead.
the partners were kind. honestly nothing like the pressure cooker everyone hypes. the ball drop was all mine. i rambled, couldn't explain it cleanly, because i couldn't see it cleanly myself.
22 hours later, the email hit.
they rejected me. and they were right to. i don't yet know what this is. who it's for. why they use it.
the email also handed me the exact questions to solve. not just for YC. the ones that define the very core of what i'm building.
as unpragmatic as it may sound, i didn't want a yes i conned my way into. this is the thing i want to build for the next decade plus. and i want the most honest feedback signal i can get.
you don't fake your way into your life's work.
third time's the charm. LFG

@higgsfield i made simlate.world
similar but comes with this brain model encoded into your actual followers so you can actually simulate how your content will perform before it’s live

built simlate.world and won clawhack blr, fun event!
thanks to @BLRxZo, @scaletogether and ofc @Boldrin71 !
simlate predicts how your content will perform before you hit post. Generate creatives, test them on your synthetic audience models, and optimises for what works
