@pushcut_app hi folks, anyone at home? I have an idea that I really want to share with the founders of Pushcut.
English

@jcasabona @stephenrobles Pushcut Automation Server for macOS is currently in TestFlight. Perfect for a Mac Mini in the closet!
English

@elbitman @jon_prosser @iupdate @LukeMiani That’s not the inference we were expecting people to draw 👀😂
English

@dragonauta Pushcut needs to open the Shortcuts app via URL scheme in order to execute shortcuts and Guided Access restricts the device to a single app. Unfortunately, this means the Automation Server and Guided Access are incompatible.
English

@pushcut_app server requires always on, unlocked, in foreground exec, yet it craps up with guided access?

@Dennisbe We’re just discussing this further. Can we ask what problem you’re trying to solve that you think logging would help with? Anything we implement has large privacy implications given the increase in user data we would store, so we don’t want to rush into any decisions.
English

Hi @pushcut_app, thanks for update today! ✌️🥳
Is there a chance to implement a log of Notifications?
English

@Sailor_Mikey Is this happening on iPhone or just iPad? We’ve found an issue on iPad that should be fixed in Pushcut 2023.1.1 (awaiting app review).
English

@pushcut_app Is there a way to cancel a notification through the web api?
English

@Sailor_Mikey That’s very strange! Were you importing from photos or from a file?
English

@RowanStrang Hi Rowan, thanks for the suggestion! We don’t have anything like that currently in the pipeline, but I’ve made a note on it and we’ll certainly consider it for implementation going forward.
English

@agsmith87 We’ve looked into it and it is possible (though not immediate, as it requires background notifications that Apple may delay). We're hoping to have this included with our next release (2023.1). Thanks for the suggestion.
English

@agsmith87 Currently, it isn’t possible to remove a notification on a different device. We’re not sure if that’s possible to implement (without the app being open) but we’ll look into it.
English

@agsmith87 There’s an `id` field in the response body; we’ve updated the API docs (pushcut.io/webapi) to reflect this. You can also provide an `id` property in your request, which works the same way as in the shortcut.
English

@pushcut_app So on this - how do I get the identifier of a notification that was deliver through a POST call? I’m aware of how to do it if it’s been sent from Shortcuts (I can assign it myself) but unsure how to grab that identifier from a POST call… 🤔😐❓
English

@agsmith87 You can also remove delivered notifications on your current device using the “Cancel Notification” shortcut.
English

@agsmith87 Notifications are sent to Apple immediately and they don’t provide an ability to cancel them. You can, however, replace a notification by sending another one with the same identifier.
English

@YaseenTayob Follow Apple’s documentation on adding a Focus Filter: support.apple.com/en-gb/HT212608
Then select “Pushcut” under App Filters and you’ll see a screen similar to the one attached. Select the notification and the device to send it to, then tap “Add”.

English

@pushcut_app Please explain how to trigger a notification on a specific focus filter. Thanks.
English

Do you want to trigger a notification via a Focus Filter? How about customise the order of your quick actions, or add a server schedule through a Shortcut? You can do all that and more with the latest release of Pushcut 🤓
pushcut.io/release-notes/…
English

@michaelfransen Only if the Automation Server is running. That’s a limitation set by Apple, as we can’t trigger shortcuts from the background.
English

@martinpacker @RosemaryOrchard What sort of URL flexibility did you have in mind? 👀
English

@RosemaryOrchard @pushcut_app @HTTPBot Hey Rose! Thanks for this. Will play some more. BTW Pushcut could use more URL flexibility. Now back to my Pi Pico 12 Days fun... :-)
English

Had fun messing around with triggering notifications with JSON in @pushcut_app. Both via Shortcuts and @HTTPBot. In the latter case I haven't figured out HTTPBot POST from Shortcuts __with variables__. (Faves with variables is one of the actions.)
Any ideas?
English

@pushcut_app Oh that would be awesome. 😊
Thank you very much 👍🏻 👍🏻
English

@pushcut_app I’d like to have an action on a notification to execute a server action = shortcut **with an input**
I’ve worked out that I can do this through attaching an appropriate dictionary to a POST request.
But surely there’s a way to do this (input) in the Pushcut app?

Easier notification creation, enhanced actions in those notifications, and more!
