I will never forget the piercing sound of the alarm and the announcement at 6:30 pm, “CODE BLUE Room 268!” It seemed like time stopped and accelerated simultaneously. March 6th, 2019 - my son, my first born, my only son took his last breath on a ventilator at 10:42 pm. Every parent of child loss knows the feeling. Tight chest. Tears flowing. Choking while trying to breathe. Can't think straight. Want to run away, but not knowing where. Wanting to scream, but knowing it won't help. I know my son is in a better place and that certainty soothes my aching heart, but it doesn’t take the pain away. Please pray for us today. There are truly no words that can fully honor my beloved mother-in-law, Cedell Goffney, who embodied the very essence of love. She poured her heart into everything - loving her husband with unwavering devotion, nurturing her children and grandchildren with grace, and serving her church and community with a selfless spirit. Her profound love for the Lord shone brightly through her beautiful singing and tireless service in the ministry. For the past 26 years of our marriage, I have affectionately teased my husband Joseph about being a mama’s boy, a testament to the incredible bond they shared. Thank you, mother-in-law, for being such a Godly example and a guiding light in our lives. Your legacy of love and faith will forever remain in our hearts. We love you dearly and will miss you more than words can express. 💔✨
