The smart engs, scientists, researchers and blue collar workers are all rich (eg US/CH swes, top uni profs, senior quants, and your best local plumber) due to smarts. Actually I can answer. Some people do not care about money. In order to make a lot of money, it needs to fit snugly on top of your value hierarchy. When it’s not, you are subject to luck. Money doesn’t just appear in your bank account because you’re intelligent. There are a myriad of engineers, scientists, researchers, even blue collar workers who are exceptionally intelligent that choose to live modestly - and are content doing so. I feel like this is obvious; and the one who’s actually coping (and projecting) is you.
