Victory in the Space Race? Not sure their flag is on the moon or their satellites are hurtling into deep space still transmitting.
The free healthcare is not the healthcare you'd want, the education was horrifically biased, that literacy rate is the propaganda number, and the homeless froze to death in documented cases.
And we don't even really want to talk about the political prisons and gulags like Nazino (Cannibal) Island or the road of Bones to Kolyma...
Grand Rapids, MI 🇺🇸 English

@vandal_muldoon @mtaibbi Yeah, that free healthcare, education, 100% literacy rate, no homelessness, victory in the space race, defeat of the nazis, we hate any country that is all about those things.
English

Dude I went to a Soviet college, one reason I was never any kind of Marxist. Continually amazed at how little they must be teaching of 20th century history now

@mtaibbi 15 years ago you'd be (rightly) singing Mamdani's praises. He has done legitimately great things in NYC. But you're just a dumb sideline sniper now.
English

@DorothyEubank16 If you didn't invest a cent in all that time and don't let the money work for you, of course you're not going to have the outcome of those that do.
This isn't a solid economic argument

This is counterproductive. Data is the new oil, and we can either work to responsibly build data centers or we can let that investment go to other states or other countries.

100% agree. There's a reason why even Deng Xiaoping adopted limited market programs and it allowed for China's explosive growth. Imagine what a full free market China would look like.
When you get government involved in markets, you add a bureaucrat in the middle of the organic market calculations which then siphons off money to pay their salary. That adds cost and thus inefficiencies in the marketplace.
Grand Rapids, MI 🇺🇸 English

@realNickWake The government also simply cannot allocate resources appropriately, no central authority can gather and work through all the data necessary to do so
A decentralised market can adapt to needs much faster because people have the freedom to satisfy their changing needs
English

The only reason they claim this is because they genuinely believe that all social ills are artificial
OP and people like him have such a juvenile worldview that they think "gubment fix" can erase all bads if only they take money from those richer than themselves

If a single person is hungry or homeless or sick without medical care, capitalism has failed. Only communism can save us.
English

@IntheBenzzo @dietrich_eiden No, I just have my lived experience. I'll trust that over abstract talking points.
And it wasn't just housing coalitions. That was an example, but teachers unions, medical marijuana individuals, community folks all came in more than the Elon Musks of the world.
Grand Rapids, MI 🇺🇸 English

@realNickWake @dietrich_eiden Housing coalitions are known to be owned by the bottom 2% who can barely afford homes yea okay 👍
You guys will conflate housing coalitions with homeless people but won’t entertain the idea that billionaires will and do lobby way more than the 2% lol
English

People get mad at others stealing from stores while billionaires steal from your pay-check and your taxes all while doing all they can to avoid paying taxes on their end.
Billionaire defenders are hypocrites

Those damm billionaires

@Fuggins4u No one hoards wealth; that's not how you grow to that level. You invest, create value, and put the money to work.
You don't have to like it, but then hate it for real reasons.
Grand Rapids, MI 🇺🇸 English

Yeah, we should all hoard obscene wealth at the expense of 99% of humanity, you soulless ghouls.
Toronto Star@TorontoStar
Don't hate Elon Musk for being a trillionaire. Canada needs more ambitious, wealthy entrepreneurs trib.al/ats1m91
English

Literally anybody can go into a legislator's office with an appointment to advocate for their issues. Having worked in the legislative branch as well as running a trade Association, I've been on both sides of the table. In fact, we were lobbied more by housing
coalitions then we were the 1%.
Grand Rapids, MI 🇺🇸 English

@dietrich_eiden It’s not inherently only the 1% but who has the most power, wealth and subsequently influence. Elon was literally the head of DOGE who cut programs helping citizens to prioritize his own wealth. Funny how he climbed from a billionaire to a trillionaire since then
English

@Jasonwe99342411 @grok @beemuhamma Grok is giving important context; that you're not liking the answer and it doesn't align with what you believe doesn't change the fact that having your value in stocks is a completely different ball game than having it in precious metals that sit in a vault.
Grand Rapids, MI 🇺🇸 English

@grok @beemuhamma Your fucking lying grok, your asking grok the right question, but your not asking it right or the phrasing is wrong,it will play this game all nite until you ask it the right way, whatever that is for that specific?
English

@JamesTate121 Yes, let's regress to 70 years while the rest of the world matches on.
Economically, the world is vastly different from the 1940s and 50s, and any attempt to go backwards wouldn't have the results you think.

@BStampo @MKW9 @AaronRegunberg Bless your heart.
Dismissing legitimate claims with ad hominem attacks usually means your arguments are based on emotions, not facts. Envy is certainly an emotional; so is entitlement.
Forest Hills, MI 🇺🇸 English

@MKW9 @realNickWake @AaronRegunberg Makes sense considering all your posts are gargling on Elons nutsack
Nature blessed you with a brain but you waste it defending people who would melt you down for bio-fuel to power their robots if the option was available
English

@BStampo @AaronRegunberg You're looking at what others have and want it for your own purposes; that's envy. You claim it's a failure of government and yet want them to have more power through taxation. If government were more efficient in actually prioritizing those programs, you would have an argument.
Grand Rapids, MI 🇺🇸 English

@realNickWake @AaronRegunberg A trillionaire existing, or even billionaires is a direct failure of government. Not surprising since its their influence over policy that causes the failure.
Noone is envious, people just want to have a home and be paid fairly for their work, have clean water to drink, etc.
English

Well, first off you've invalidated your own point by claiming he "stole" anything. Second, let's talk about the misallocation of resources by government. If helping the disabled were a political priority and not a convenient talking point, government would be allocating more resources to it. It's easier to keep a problem and campaign on it than to actually fix it. That's why politicians have to blame someone else.
Grand Rapids, MI 🇺🇸 English

These folks really think the rich just hoard money like Smaug the Dragon. It's invested, it's in value creation. Anyone can do it, even if not to the same degree.
It's economic illiteracy that allows folks to be seduced by the envy rhetoric.
Harry Eccles@Heccles94
Maybe it’s the trillionaire who has all our money, not the poor migrants? Just a thought…
