BABALA: SENSITIBONG BALITA
“Every time we go to the parents to try to resolve these issues, we were either dismissed or gaslighted,” saad ng konsehal.
“Kung ikaw ay naging biktima ng bullying, o magulang na dumaan dito, alam kong hindi ito madali. Pero hindi tayo pwedeng manatiling tahimik,” aniya.

MARCOLETA: THE SENATOR THE MAJORITY DISLIKES
Senator Loren Legarda was poised to become Senate President. By 2pm of February 4, the count was already 17-5 in her favor.
But by 3pm upon opening of session and during opening prayer, the 5 became 7 (in favor of Sotto and status quo) and only 19 Senators were physically present in the Senate building — Loren only had 12.
By 4pm, when the Senators took a break for picture taking and the Majority Bloc had a merienda and caucus, Loren no longer wanted to side with the DDS Bloc and the 15-member majority of Sotto was back together solidly.
What happened? ⁉️
Essentially, aside from Bato being physically absent, coup plotter instigator Alan Peter Cayetano and Marcoleta insisted that when Sotto is ousted that Marcoleta returns as Chair of the Blue Ribbon Committee (BRC).
From 2-3pm, two (2) Senators withdrew from the coup plot upon being reminded of the horrors that Marcoleta would bring as BRC Chair.
By 4-5pm, when Senator Ping Lacson explained his draft report recommending Chiz, Joel, and Jinggoy for prosecution and appeasing the concerns of some members, the majority was back together.
While the draft majority report was concerning, the alternative was far more troubling — Marcoleta being back as BRC Chair would mean that the Minority Report that he and Imee Marcos reported in a press conference would become the majority report.
And that was worse than any concerns with Ping Lacson’s report.
You see, Marcoleta’s report absolved ALL three of Chiz, Joel, and Jinggoy from any liabilities or recommendation for prosecution based on the flood control scam.
The majority Senators realized that that would have been far more damaging to the reputation and integrity of the Senate than Ping Lacson’s report.
You see, the apprehension of some members of the Majority with Ping’s report is that very few Congressmen were recommended for prosecution — only Zaldy Co and Mitch Cajayon Uy.
Some in the Majority also wanted former Speaker Martin Romualdez’s head.
But when Ping Lacson explained that based on the standards that he and his lawyers used, all the individuals he recommended for prosecution had three lawyers of evidence: identification by witnesses, validation, and corroboration.
And that while Martin Romualdez was mentioned or identified by Orly Guteza, there was no validation or corroboration of Guteza’s testimony.
This explanation appeased some members of the Majority Bloc.
And when the draft report was leaked, the Senators saw the public reception and they saw that the public was satisfied if not cheering the report recommending Chiz, Joel, and Jinggoy for prosecution.
So the comeback of Marcoleta — and his Minority Report — became a far less appealing and more horrifying alternative than Lacson’s Majority Report.
They would suffer horrible backlash if Chiz, Joel, and Jinggoy would be absolved and the Senate would be perceived as protecting their own or reinforcing the Old Boys Club notion.
That is aside from the fact that MANY Senators (especially the Tulfos) dislike Marcoleta on a personal level — the way he handles Committee hearings is rude, abrasive, and disorderly.
Many Senators also find him sanctimonious and a know-it-all despite being really wrong on many things — legal or non-legal issues.
Thus, aside from Bato’s continued absence, we have to thank Alan Peter Cayetano for his insistence on making Marcoleta the Blue Ribbon Chair again.
And thanks to Rodente Marcoleta for being himself — annoying and unlikeable. 👊

LACSON CONFIRMS RECOMMENDATION FOR CHARGES VS. ESTRADA, VILLANUEVA, ESCUDERO
BREAKING: Senate blue ribbon committee chairman Ping Lacson confirmed a draft partial report recommending the filing of charges against colleagues Jinggoy Estrada, Joel Villanueva, and Chiz Escudero, as well as former lawmakers Bong Revilla, Zaldy Co, and Mitch Cajayon-Uy.
Lacson said these people are now facing investigations, with some ordered arrested in connection with the flood control corruption scandal.
”It doesn’t make sense na hindi ko ire-recommend yung nangyayari na,” he said.
The Senate president pro tempore said the draft and unofficial report has only four signatures after three colleagues backed out. He added that the signatories are himself, Risa Hontiveros, Bam Aquino, and Kiko Pangilinan. Eleven signatures are required to present the report in plenary. | @eimorpsantos

"Wala pong ganoong balita na maibibigay tayo dahil ngayon po, ang pangulo ay nasa meeting. So ‘yan po ay fake news," ayon kay Castro.
Ito'y matapos maospital ang pangulo noong nakaraang linggo dahil sa diverticulitis o pamamaga ng bahagi ng large intestine.
