@BarrySchust When Layne played for the Steelers, a buddy of mine ran into him at an after-hours club in the early hours of a Sunday morning. He seemed to have had some cocktails. So my buddy made a big bet against the Steelers. Layne had a great game, and my buddy lost big.

Bobby Layne is such a great story. Played for the New York Bulldogs in 1949 (yes, the NFL). Then he moved on to Detroit where he was a 3x NFL Champion. His last championship, is also the teams' last one. 1957.

It’s kind of shocking how entrenched people are in supporting Platner imo. Even if you ultimately want him to win I don’t know how you can fill throatedly dismiss any skepticism about him.
