@foodtechteacher The context you miss on all of these posts is the quality that went out of the squad. Yes, Mori and Alebiosu excellent. Gudjohnsen has shown promise. Miller, and McLoughlin solid. But that is easily cancelled out by what was lost. They didn’t go from 7th to 20th by fluke.

@HBerry177 @RoryLarmer Didn’t Rob Coar oversee the rebuild of Ewood and the team with Jack in the early 90’s? Unfair to tarnish him with what has happened during Venkys tenure.

Yet the fans welcomed him back when he subsequently returned. If fans feel they want to make an issue of the award, how about directing their attention to Bob Coar, who had been present through the decline of the last sixteen years.

A lot of talk today about quality/entertainment level of this season's Premier League. Interesting that it comes after a weekend of high-scoring games (3-4, 5-2, 2-3). There haven't been many of those this season. The quality/standard of the PL is extremely high, but the quality of the football has been alarmingly low. The widespread reliance on set-pieces (and no it isn't just one or two teams) makes for an ugly spectacle. Long spells of almost every game are spent watching a player trundle over to take a corner/FK/throw and then linger for another 30 seconds while the ref tries (or doesn't try) to make sense of the chaos in the six-yard box. So much time and — crucially — momentum lost waiting for set-pieces. It's football without spontaneity, without fluency, without creativity, without risk. The club is a shit show. Any manager with common sense will avoid us like the plague. Unless you are desperate (see the last incumbent) why on earth would you want to work with this shower?

I for one am absolutely shocked that a club visible to the outside world desperate for a manager whilst also cutting costs at an alarming rate would struggle to agree terms with a new manager
