Change your time preference. A moderate, well-balanced, diet and regular exercise are the most important steps one can take to lessen one's risk for diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions. #BodyPositivity

No, you HSR bro Leftists just need to overthrow the NIMBY Leftists who tie up these projects in endless rounds of environmental reviews, a labyrinth of permitting, followed by a raft of lawsuits by every interest group and crank who opposed the project in the prior stages. None of these are inherent to the constitution. Zoning is unconstitutional given a plain reading of the document early 20th century Progressivism implemented all these hurdles and installed activist judges who would put ideology ahead of what constitution and law actually reads. So long as the government isn't building it I don't have an inherent objection to it.

The right’s ideas are so shitty that they needed a billionaire to purchase Twitter and rig the algorithm to artificially boost right wing grifters (with Elon himself somehow being the biggest one)
C3@C_3C_3

The Left never got over Elon buying X. That wasn’t supposed to happen. The Left’s ideas are so bad and damaging they need total control of information. When Elon bought X they lost that control. People started seeing truth. This is catastrophic for the Left. Simple.

Only losers need excuses. They have a land boarder with 🇨🇳, they USSR existed for about half the time span in the graph. Neither of which would have cooperated with Western sanctions and they still couldn't. BTW, the sanctions argument is a canard if it was a better system it would still work even with headwinds.

People know what delivery robots stand for. They know these reboots are human replacement machines. That's why they disrupt them.
Hedgie@HedgieMarkets

🦔Delivery robots from companies like Kiwibot, Starship Technologies, and Uber Eats are facing increasing vandalism across US and UK cities. Incidents include graffiti, physical attacks, robots being knocked over, and worse. Kiwibot reported around 1,600 incidents out of 80,000 deliveries on the UC Berkeley campus. In Sheffield, UK, two robots were found covered in graffiti reading "off our streets." Each robot costs around $2,500 to replace. My Take I'd resist the easy framing of this as mindless vandalism or neo-Luddism. When people start physically attacking robots on public streets, it's usually worth asking what the robots represent to them rather than just condemning the behavior. Delivery robots occupy public sidewalks built and maintained by taxpayers, operated by private companies that pay nothing for that space and answer to no one locally if something goes wrong. They're also showing up in cities where gig workers are already squeezed, where the promise that technology creates more jobs than it eliminates is wearing thin, and where the people most affected by automation have the least say in how it gets deployed. The robots are an easy, visible, low-consequence target for frustration that has nowhere else to go. Companies treating this purely as a security problem to be solved rather than a signal worth understanding are going to keep replacing $2,500 robots indefinitely. Hedgie🤗

Location is the most important factor in real-estate. Congratulations on coming around on people leaving coastal blue cities that refuse to build housing. WFH means being able to live anywhere including more affordable places. I found lower costs of living, better community a beautiful setting, and a slower pace of life without the traffic and hassle of urban life.

@swd2 End the experiment in fiat money and the affordability problem will clear right up. That's what funds the wars. Tax cuts are irrelevant. All taxation is theft

@DarrigoMelanie No get out with that commie crap. No you shouldn't be able to write off your less than worthless ____ studies degree because your offended by how your boss spends their own money. People who get worthwhile degrees don't need a write off.

@Rahll You don't hate Leftists enough. Educate yourself about the Kelo v New London case and who was pushed the issue to use eminent domain to seize private property to use for a different private enterprise and which Justices allowed it.

Canceling debt destroyes money and so does taxation. Leftists have several severe misunderstandings wrt to what money is and how it functions in the economy. The government spends first no taxation required. The taxation happens after the fact to force demand for units of the currency issued by the government. It's the same concept as temple script. Since you're a Canadian account we can use that as an example. Your government issues debt instruments to spend right now and taxes you later. Your income , a cut of everything you buy, etc and it will only ever accept payment in CAD. By forcing you to pay in it, and also taxing exchange into an out of it at just above the rate they expand the supply y/y. Through these and other means they steal additional value from your labor and savings. This is near the heart of why every fiat system is immoral. It allows the sovereign to create currency units for nothing that you have to work and sacrifice to aquire. In a capitalist system with honest money printing prices are stable to slightly deflationary (meaning things cost less over time as yech improves) and any variation is information about the real scarcity, value of a good, service, or real property.

Yes. That's why fiat money 7a morally dubious. Insiders always get the new money first and wages always adjust far down the road usually years later (Cantillon effect). The government primarily spends the money it conjures into existence by debt issuance with corporations and billionaires. Both of which have a higher propensity to save. That's why the inflation always surfaces first in financial markets followed by hard assets like real-estate. There's no reason why one would expect them to bump salaries just because. Especially since throughout the applicable period the labor force expanded dramatically. The baby boom. Women entering the workforce, offshoring, opening borders to low skill immigrants all act to suppress wages. Apart from the baby boom all of these happened in coordination with the government.

Hold on. Are you really going to blame govt for the wages which corporations and business owners (many of them billionaires) choose to pay their workers? You know govt isn’t forcing them to pay crap, don’t you? If you want to reduce inequality and raise minimum wage then you should vote in a govt that isn’t captured by corporations & the super rich.

1. Houston is pretty easy to navigate by car. 2. Subways are impractical given how much of it is on former swap-land. 3. They have hurricanes. One needs to be able to GTFO on short notice sometimes which makes fostering a dependence on transportation that wouldn't let one do that (busses already exist there so that's not a valid rebuttal to this point). A light rail system isn't going to get one out of harm's way

It's a dictatorship. The central government runs rough-shod over the various centers of NIMBY power that exist in Free countries. In the 🇺🇸 a project has to fight governments from township to DC. Undergo multiple tiers of review which purport to be about safety are functionally just about the bureaucracy at each of these levels extracting tribute from the project. If a project gets past that then it still has to pay tribute to various interest groups who sue the project to reopen and relitigate the plethora of permits and reviews. All of that before a single shovel of dirt is moved.
