@jarildy My other advice is once you do invest, don't freak out when your money seems to decrease. There will be dips in the stock market but assuming retirement is 30+ years away you're in it for the long haul.

@jarildy I also think Fidelity is a great platform. I started one in grad school and it really helped me start saving for retirement. Get a book on investing and start with index funds/ETFs. Now is a good time because prices are low.

one time in med school I pronounced Guillain-Barré incorrectly bc i had only read about it and never said the words out loud before people laughed at me and I was embarrassed but the attending was like HEY IF HE KNOWS THE WORDS IT MEANS HE IS STUDYING and it meant a lot to me
