As a merge-mined #Scrypt coin, Junkcoin is grateful for the security provided by the @litecoin network in exchange for block mining rewards.
However, as with all Scrypt coins, it’s essential to find a sustainable balance to avoid the dilution of $JKC value through the constant resale of “free” mined coins at every block.
At Junkcoin, we believe we are close to an ideal solution with a virtuous model:
1) We increased halving frequency to reduce inflation and limit new coin issuance.
2) We implemented a #DevFund (unique among Scrypt coins) that collects 20% of every block reward, to sustain and encourage both technical and marketing development of the Junkcoin ecosystem.
Because if Junkcoin takes off, everyone wins (holders AND miners).
3) And finally, we put transparency and innovation first (for example through the many features of JunkieWally), giving miners an incentive to hold their rewards instead of instantly selling, which would otherwise suppress or kill price growth.
The future will tell if we are right or wrong, but we firmly believe in this vision and will stick to it.

Scrypt merged mining is the way. I personally advocate for this because there is indeed strength in numbers. PoW can only survive when this is maximized to its full potential. Litecoin is a beacon of hope in a mostly selfish and manipulative space where kill or be killed is what most chains seem to preach. I don't believe this to be so. The ocean doesn't thrive because every animal is for itself. It thrives because there is a symbiotic relationship between everything from the whale to the coral.
