Dogecoin Founder Tells Critics To Read Satoshi Nakamoto White Paper Dogecoin co founder Billy Markus dismissed concerns over the network's merge mining security, pointing critics to Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin white paper. The debate began after Dogecoin Foundation developer Paulo Vidal questioned whether Dogecoin relies too heavily on Litecoin for security. Markus said the concerns were not valid and argued miners simply follow economic incentives. He argued miners are driven by rewards and said the current model continues to make sense. He added that removing merge mining would be "dumb and pointless."

My feed is being flooded with debates regarding whether Dogecoin is better off with or without being merge mined with Litecoin. I have a lot of personal thoughts on this but way too much to post here. I've also spoken my thoughts directly to a few of those who continue initiating it, but ultimately it's not my decision, nor is it honestly their decision. At least if Dogecoin is truly decentralized. That's the beauty of PoW.
