The session included exchanges and updates on data exchange and digitalisation initiatives with key Green and Digital Shipping Corridor (GDSC) partners. The engagement builds upon the India–Singapore Green and Digital Shipping Corridor MoU signed on 3 September 2025, reflecting continued collaboration in advancing sustainable and digital maritime practices. During the event, MPA showcased its ongoing initiatives in ship-to-shore and port-to-port data exchange, alongside presentations from leading digital solution providers and the Port of Rotterdam. Chaired a review meeting on port operations in New Delhi with senior @shipmin_india officials. Through timely intervention, we have successfully cleared nearly 90% of the cargo backlog caused by the Strait of Hormuz disruptions. In a significant boost to the nation’s shipping sector, India’s total shipping capacity has crossed 14.2 million Gross Tonnage (GT), with the addition of 92 vessels in FY 2025–26. This milestone reflects steady growth in fleet expansion, enhanced maritime capabilities, and a stronger push towards self-reliance in global shipping.
