JNPA has achieved a container throughput of 74,26,214 TEUs and an overall throughput of 92.85 MMT from April 2025 - February 2026—surpassing the previous record of 73,01,509 TEUs and 92.12 MMT handled during the corresponding period. In February 2026, JNPA handled 6,68,363 TEUs of containers and 8.35 million tonnes of total cargo, marking a growth of 8.47% in container traffic and 10.51% in overall cargo compared to February 2025. JNPA was honoured to host a UK Parliamentary Delegation, further strengthening dialogue and cooperation in the maritime sector. The Government has rolled out several financial assistance schemes to strengthen India’s shipbuilding sector. These include the creation of a dedicated long-term funding mechanism, liberalised FDI norms, and promotion of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to accelerate growth in the industry. Under Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, investments worth approximately ₹3 lakh crore are planned to develop world-class shipbuilding clusters, fostering a strong ecosystem where MSMEs, start-ups, and indigenous vendors contribute to innovation, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
