Fernandes is a better signing than Bouaddi cos there's less of an adaptation issue However, Bouaddi is better player than Fernandes btw. And he's just 18. Big, strong and tidy.

I think Manchester United have a bigger problem with Lammens doing well and nobody wants to admit it yet. United fans now believe every unknown player will turn out to be the premier league signing of the summer. They want every unknown player from Belgium, Italy, Azerbaijan, Asia, championship and national league. This is Manchester United, not Brighton. We have no business going for Hackney and Alex Scott, not to mention, we know what they both have common. We reportedly have an additional £200 million coming in from our players going to the World Cup. Just go to West Ham & Newcastle and get me both Fernandes and Tonali.

Carrick is not recommending a player based on highlights. The fact Carrick is reportedly pushing his case should not be ignored. This isn't a scout watching a few games. This is a coach who worked with him every day, watched his development up close and knows exactly what he can bring to a team. He's also younger and more mobile than some of United's current midfield options. He covers ground well, keeps possession ticking over and doesn't mind doing the simple things repeatedly. Every squad needs players who can come in for cup games, rotation periods and injuries without the entire structure falling apart. What he probably doesn't bring is elite ball winning, physical dominance or game-changing creativity. He's not the midfielder you look to for 10 goals, 10 assists or match-winning moments every week. His value is more in helping the team function properly. He’s young, intelligent midfielder with technical quality, work rate and room to grow, this feels like the type of signing smart clubs make before everyone else catches on.

@UTDQueku_ In my view, tonali is the Casemiro replacement. mainoo can also act as a situational DLP, with ederson and mateus fernandes as No.8s making Mainoo a flexible 6/8 option.

I don’t really agree with the Ederson signing though, to be honest. Everyone has different opinions when it comes to new signings, and at the end of the day, we don’t know more than the people making the decisions behind the scenes. It doesn’t matter how you personally feel about a player before he arrives , once he signs for the club, he deserves our full support and backing to succeed. There’s no point writing him off before he even gets a proper chance or trying so hard to see him fail just to prove a point. As fans, we should wish good for every player who wears the badge to succeed and help move the club forward. If the board believes he’s good enough and capable of helping the club progress, then bring him in. At the end of the day, every signing deserves a fair opportunity to prove themselves before being judged.
