Saw this phrase in an email signature today: "...please don’t feel under any obligation to reply outwith your own normal period of working" Was about to politely let them know they were a victim of autocorrect, but I had a niggling doubt: what if "outwith" was a word!? It was.

My mum, Karen Elaine Jewell, died this morning. She was a former VGH ER nurse, labour lawyer, vice-chair @ BC Labour Board, loving wife to my stepdad, and the most wonderful mum I ever could have hoped and dreamed for. I know VGH and she did all they could. She was 68.

@eshanabhangu @UBC This is appalling Eshana; you most certainly don't deserve this kind of abuse. Treat it with the contempt it deserves and take heart from the messages of support you are getting from across the UBC community.

I’ve always recognized & communicated that there are diverse student views about face to face instruction. If you disagree with a decision made by @UBC, there are better ways to voice your concern than sending me vile emails. I can also buy you a dictionary. *graphic language*

Just now gathering my thoughts to start preparing my remarks for an event in two (2) days and am wondering if there will ever be a time where I will experience writing something comfortably ahead of schedule

My mom, Eleanor Beckman Parker Stelle, passed away May 13 at age 97+ while recovering from surgery. As a former bacteriologist she had a few choice things to say about the pandemic. It didn't take her. It just postpones memorials for now. Here she is @LifeAtPurdue, mid1940s.
