Just a casual late-night launch in Florida. 🚀 Got to watch the SpaceX Falcon 9 light up the sky while recording from my VR headset

We’re halfway there. At the time of posting this, the Artemis II mission is about halfway to the Moon. When the astronauts arrive, they will conduct a lunar flyby and collect scientific observations of the Moon’s surface.

@astro_reid In this image, also taken from the Orion capsule, we see the divide between night and day, known as the terminator, cutting across Earth. Whether awake or dreaming, we're all here on this planet together.

These two images were taken by @astro_reid only minutes apart. The stark difference is the result of camera settings. In the first, a longer shutter speed let in much more light from Earth, while the shorter shutter speed in the second emphasizes our planet's nighttime glow.

Nighttime visible imagery captured a stunning view of the aurora last night across southeastern Alaska. Observed by polar-orbiting satellites.

We launched Artemis II yesterday. Now what? Four astronauts recently launched from @NASAKennedy to embark on a mission around the Moon. But liftoff was just the beginning.

Artemis II showed a new generation what’s possible. Millions watched as humans began the journey back to the Moon. The engineers, explorers, and astronauts who will build the Moon base and go to Mars are watching today. This is how the next era of exploration begins.

Artemis II astronauts are doing great. The Orion spacecraft is performing well in an impressive elliptical orbit, and the @NASA_Johnson Mission Control team is taking good care of the crew. Meanwhile, back at @NASAKennedy, the teams are out at the pad getting ready for what comes next. We are going to get into a rhythm of launching Moon rockets around here 🇺🇸

Signal acquired! 📡 Engineers at @NASAJPL have confirmed that the Orion spacecraft is communicating with the Deep Space Network. For the first time in over 50 years, we’re receiving a signal from a spacecraft carrying humans toward the Moon.

We're going around the Moon. Come watch with us. Artemis II's four-astronaut crew is lifting off from @NASAKennedy on an approximately 10-day mission that will bring us closer to living on the Moon and Mars. The launch window opens at 6:24pm ET (2224 UTC). twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…
