Wisdom 55 was the first lodge l consecrated during my term of office and they have just celebrated their 10th anniversary and installation meeting with a banner dedication carried out by my successor Grand Master Carol Cole.

@georgecmcgavin Just stop using that deliberately softened word 'homes' and replace it with the truth .... 'housing'. The developers couldn't care less as long as they turn a profit.

TV presenter @PhilSpencerTV blocked us for sharing this image previously so we thought we’d remind the public of the fact he revels in taking the life of an animal. He’d probably hate it if you reposted this.

NO CYCLING! It doesn't apply to cyclists. Neither do red lights, no entries, one-way streets, no left / right turns, speed limits, riding on pavements or in pedestrian precincts. And to cap it all, they expect you to get out of their way!!

@Masonicmoron As an LOI project to research - why diamonds and arcane symbols round the edge of the carpet?

@markweb29890220 @TempleBalsall The same thing happened around Meriden. It often isn't noticed that the workers will swarm out first and brutally sterilise an area about a meter in diameter before their winged fellows emerge.

@WeirdMedieval In those times, a frog was symbolical of telling lies (with them shown spewing from the mouth) or, in this case, being told lies (a great big one it would seem).

@PaintingAndrew You speak of Nature friendly farming. A local farmer always sows bee-friendly margins in his fields and they positively BUZZ. It costs little and gains a lot (he has a bumper pea crop). Honey and Bumble bees adore the phacelia and borage. Also @TempleBalsall

BUT. Martin Down is an island of nature in a sea of nature decline. We need more Martin Downs, connected by nature networks across the landscapes, as well as more nature friendly farming, to really address the biodiversity crisis in Britain 7/7

Martin Down NNR in Hampshire is a pocket of bio abundance bucking the trend of insect decline. I was blown away yesterday by the sheer numbers of inverts, including thousands of butterflies! Quick thread on how are they doing it… 1/7

Ubiquitous example of the tension with free public access to important wildlife sites at @DerbysWildlife Lightwood: public disregard for signage with dogs spreading invasive aquatic plants and likely killing aquatic fauna with pet flea treatments.
