@twalksy @Wwfcwolf1 4 years ago I went from a diesel costing 35p a mile to an EV costing 9p. Low road tax, hardly any servicing, zero repairs. They are not for all (you need to be relatively low daily mileage & can charge at home), but the savings have been eye opening. Never going back.

@Wwfcwolf1 Best decision I made in a long time to get an EV also about 2 years ago. Day to day running costs are a fraction of what I used to pay. As long as you can charge at home though and not everyone can.

@MrWayneGarton @Cormsbadger @deniswhite1114 Yep. Saudi already confirmed in 2034. Another December tournament to screw up the leagues. 72 teams will compete in 18 groups of 4 with 8 eliminated in the group stages to get to the round of 64. Games split into 8 sections of 11.25 minutes with a 10 minute ad break between each.

In 1969, a bank teller stole $215,000 from his own bank and vanished. He lived as Thomas Randele for 51 years, never caught. On his deathbed in 2021, he confessed to his family and begged his daughter to keep it secret. She made a podcast. Theodore John Conrad, a 20-year-old bank teller in Cleveland, Ohio, walked out of his bank with $215,000 in cash, equivalent to more than $1.8 million today, and disappeared. Inspired in part by the film The Thomas Crown Affair, Conrad carefully planned the theft and evaded authorities by assuming a new identity: Thomas Randele. For more than five decades, he lived an apparently ordinary life. He married, raised a family, worked as a golf professional and car salesman, and avoided the mistakes that often lead fugitives to capture. Despite being one of the longest-running unresolved bank theft cases in U.S. history, he was never arrested. In 2021, as he was dying of lung cancer, Conrad confessed his true identity to his family. Shortly afterward, U.S. Marshals confirmed that Thomas Randele and Theodore Conrad were the same person, finally closing a case that had remained open for 52 years. The story gained renewed attention when Conrad's daughter, Ashley Randele, shared the family secret through the podcast Smoke Screen: My Fugitive Dad. Conrad successfully evaded capture longer than many notorious fugitives. When authorities finally identified him in 2021, he had been living under his assumed identity for over twice as long as he had lived under his real name. © History Pictures #archaeohistories

@Cormsbadger @deniswhite1114 Spain co-hosting with Portugal & Morocco. So finally after a long hiatus, it’s in a country which understands football. Oddly FIFA are staging the opening games in South America to celebrate 100 years of the World Cup. And to make a few extra quid.

@stevesanderstax @J_a_y_s97 What a silly argument and complete nonsense. What’s harder in international cricket - which is what we’re talking about? Is it harder to hit 6 singles or a six? Stop being fucking stupid

@CallanPatt23482 @J_a_y_s97 And I guess you've played at top class level on a tricky Lords wicket against high class international bowlers. Fair enough swinging like a rusty gate in your pub team buddy against Bob the milkman. You might get lucky once. Rotating strike at that level every ball is way harder.

@CallanPatt23482 @J_a_y_s97 Having a respectful chat about cricket & then you do that. We’re allowed to have different opinions mate. So have some manners & be a bit better. Congrats to Sunderland btw. Saw them at Villa. Decent side. Good season.

@stevesanderstax @J_a_y_s97 The rules were in place before the tournament you stupid cunt. And having played cricket for years I can tell you it’s definitely harder to hit a 6 than it is to hit 6 singles. Absolutely clueless

@PJ_LAHK @triffic_stuff_ The problem is that he lacks humility. TV & the public can forgive those who make mistakes, apologise, own them & genuinely learn. Nobody believes him as he still thinks he's a bit of victim. As well as humility he also lacks talent which is another reason he's not making coin.

😡 Jenas ANGRILY HITS OUT At GMB Hosts: Throws Tantrum Over Ranvir’s Tough Questions & Plays Victim Again 🤔 Jermaine Jenas is back moaning about his Good Morning Britain interview, claiming it was a big bad trap and an ambush he never saw coming. The ex-Match of the Day star, still licking his wounds from the 2024 sexting scandal that cost him his BBC gigs, took to social media to play the victim card once more: “There’s obviously a level of disappointment… It felt like they had an agenda. It felt like there was a thirst for blood from one presenter in particular… It just felt unnecessary to me.” He goes on to complain that producers promised to focus on his “rebuilding” journey, but it all went wrong: “They invited me on. I didn’t ask to go on the show… It just felt like a trap. It just felt like one individual had an agenda and she was going to twist the knife because she wanted to.” Yeah, because no one could possibly have predicted that going on GMB with Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh would involve tough questions about the scandal that got you sacked. Come on Jermaine. You’re not stupid. You knew exactly how this was going to go, and you’re clearly referring to Ranvir when talking about the “agenda”, “thirst for blood” and “twisting the knife”. Why not just say her name? Just be honest for once. We all know who you’re talking about. Instead of owning it, he’s back to the same “poor me, everyone’s out to get me” routine he pulled during the interview itself. You lost your jobs and damaged your family because of your own actions, Jenas. Time to stop the endless whining and actually move on, or at least stop agreeing to interviews if you can’t handle the heat.

@Dashjones1000 @leggywaitress @Karnage420x Indy 1 & Indy 3 clearly. 2 is OK. The others... nah. Yes he has made some bang average films (he's high turnover so that's inevitable) but I'm in Leggy's camp that his best films are stone cold classics & there are enough of these for him to be incredibly well respected.

Spielberg is the most overrated director on earth. 10 good movies out of 43. I’m hearing Disclosure Day is ass, and stuck in the 2000s. Retire old man.

Netherlands v Japan is in a stadium with the roof closed and the temperature is controlled at 22°c. So why do we need a hydration break when it’s a temperature equivalent to an average summer’s day in England? More FIFA bollox

@hangonjames1967 @FIFAWorldCup Fair point. In the hydration breaks, a US guy in a concessions bib should drive on a water cart & each player should be asked to tap their card on the reader if they want a water. $10 a shot. Profits to FIFA. John McGinn would also get a hot dog.

@J_a_y_s97 @CallanPatt23482 ICC didn't ever forsee a situation of a tied super over so they shoved in the boundaries rule without much thought. 6 singles off one over on a tricky pitch is harder to do that 6 wild swings with 5 misses & a hit. NZ deserved to win & I still feel we pinched it unfairly.

@stevesanderstax @CallanPatt23482 Game ever, I get what you mean about boundaries after a super over but again it’s always been a thing, we’d just never seen something like that in that stage of a game before I suppose.
