What if I put £120,000 into JEPQ?
At an 8–10% yield:
That’s £9,600–£12,000 a year
Or roughly £800–£1,000/month
Paid monthly.
Just for owning the asset.
Not life-changing…
but that’s bills covered without touching your salary.
Scale that up and it gets interesting fast.
But I know I should probably wait for another 5/6 years.

Yes… but it’s not easy.
Take-home is roughly £2,300–£2,500/month.
£500 is about 20% of that.
That means trade-offs:
Less eating out.
Fewer upgrades.
More intention with spending.
But here’s the flip side:
£500/month at 8% for 30 years = £745,000
So it’s not a money problem.
It’s a priority problem.
Be honest… could you do it if you really wanted to?

Whether or not these are actually named Ultra the reality is clear: Apple is about to go even more upmarket with the next AirPods, MacBook and iPhone lines. They are hitting more and more price points, reaching more types of consumers.

@jmwilt21 Bruh, have you ever seen a HP stream? Most people would be willing to pay more for the brand too, especially if they have an iPhone already. Financing options are available too if it’s still too costly. I’ve worked in computer sales and you’ll be surprised…

I predict we will get a lot of early "reviews" from Apple YouTubers who try and show that 8gb of ram is enough and that it performs well.
Then after the review they go back to their $4000 MacBook pro and only use the Neo to show off on camera.
The issue is, the Neo will probably perform fine out of the box with minimal programs installed. But after months of installing programs, it will bog down. The Apple YouTubers won't talk about that because they don't actually use the machine.

I think I'm a little less impressed with the new MacBook Neo than a lot of people are. The $600 model comes with 256gb. That's not enough for people buying a laptop to use for several years, especially students. So you upgrade to 512gb, but now the price is $700. Not terrible, but the kicker is that you still only get 8gb of ram. The A18 Pro is a fine chip. I believe it will give similar performance to M1, maybe slightly better even. But we all know 8gb ram MacBooks have not aged well. Even for the low price, we still need a level of future proofing that I don't think is happening here. Makes much more sense to catch an M4, M3, or even M2 MacBook Air on sale for a similar price with 16gb ram. I think if Apple simply put 12 or 16gb of ram it would have made a lot more sense.
