Oxblood dye is sweet. Have the pieces for my leather chest rig together, learned a lot along the way. Still have a lot to figure out, this isn’t the final model, this is a prototype. I highly recommend learning at least some leather work, and sewing techniques. I also highly recommend learning to do some kydex work, and to keep some leather, and kydex on hand. Never know when you’ll need something, and don’t want to wait, or find that no one makes what you need.

When NCOs (retired Combat veterans) speak from their POV you hear things you don’t like hearing but need to hear. If you’re not in the military and always wondered how NCOs talk, this is it. And the reason why Officers may have to say the same thing in a political, gentler manner. We NCOs are the “Backbone” for a reason and everything Clay is saying is unadulterated. I’ve been dealing with skin cancer, off and on, since coming home from Iraq in 2010. Not the fairly safe kind, but the metastasizing kind. I go tomorrow morning to have 2 more lumps removed. I don’t talk about it much, because people have it way worse than I do. I am truly blessed. I’m not in fear for my life, because I’ve been good at staying on top of it, but it has been a thorn in my side for 16 years. I shouldn’t let it, but it completely destroys my self confidence. In public, I think it’s all people can see when they look at me. Especially since I’ve sobered up, I want to start actually living my life again, instead of just surviving it. There’s even a girl I want to ask out. I always pray that the next time is the last time I have to see the dermatologist. It may seem trivial to you, but it’s a big deal to me. So, again, I pray that tomorrow is the last time.

They should have told them what they were taking, and what it was intended to test. I got there not long after Dailey became CSM for 1-8, everyone called Legendre “Big L”. Sassaman left a few months after I got there and Martindale took over. Richopi one of B Co.’s PL’s went SF, and runs a YouTube channel now. Tripped me out when I saw him in my recommended watches. One of my guys Chris Hamilton went to selection three times, he ended up in 1st group before he retired. 1-8 had some of the best soldiers I had the pleasure of working with. You probably knew Briggs, he won best Ranger in 2013 and 2015.

@syskusa 1-8 was quite the production machine for SF, Rangers, & Army leadership. SMA(Ret) Dailey came out of there.

@beerundbacon Never did until I developed nerve damage, and crushed discs. Now it stretches the lower back out, and relieve pain, have to switch sides about every 3-5 minutes. Not service connected 😂
