@syskusa @MorbidKnowledge On Rustamiyah, they had the whole place bracketed. It was honestly safer to just sit wherever you were than to try running for a bunker. Unless you were in the motor pool. We had to build more bunkers there, because we were catching so many rounds.

@syskusa My parents' home near Carbondale was almost destroyed by a wildfire a couple years ago. That one was started by a couple of kids firing tracers at a gun range. Between idiots, nihilists, and global warming activists, Colorado has some serious problems on its hands.

I have a PCC/PDW AR9 that I 'built" from parts from various manufacturers , and I have it tuned well and it runs accordingly. With the adapter it folds to about 17.5 in, takes glock mags, and is very shootable and comfortable to rock. I think the PCC/PDW niche is an important one that bridges the gap between handguns and carbines, and more people should consider it. There's a reason countless police and military departmens issue them to this day worldwide. That said, the range of PCC offerings is now quite vast, of course. The MP5 is rad. B&T js rad. Scorpions are rad. The Kuna is rad. Taurus makes a nice one now. Don't get me started on the Flux and its ilk. Nasty, useful form factors. As a longtime fan of the HK MP5 (and K), I think that's the ultimate holy grail within this realm, and the near recoil-less roller delayed action is nifty as fuck. But does my rat build AR9 fit the bill as a compact, accurate, and versatile PCC/PDW? Absolutely. So yeah. The Scorpion still matters in 2026 because the form factor is important. If you can't carry a rifle and may need more capacity, accuracy, and range than a pistol offers, the PDW/PCC is absolutely the way to go, and I think everyone should own one. Readily available mags and ammo matters too, which is why I went with AR/Glock compatibility and 9mm. Whatever. You get my point. Or don't.
