@tablehogs Call: home-brew miniatures (toy soldiers and rubber bands), then mainstream games leading to Risk and Axis and Allies. Challenges: Battletech and Car Wars Revelation: attending my first major game convention, awakening to the much larger gaming world...

what was your journey?

@Arctichawk_ I haven’t delved into the war game path just yet but I can hear it calling. I’ve ordered Battle of Hoth and it’s going to be my first intro to the Memoir 44 system.

@tablehogs Somewhat enjoys basic board games like monopoly, risk and catan, but they feel too basic and luck based > discover this game called axis & allies pacific in the local store; exactly what I’ve been looking for > rolls into more A&A and then GMT war games > never look back

So many things happening in board gaming and not a single YouTuber is talking about it. No clickbait thumbnails or anything. I'm quite surprised yet not.
