@taylorrddd @readswithravi Are the distractions coincidental or are we flooded by them for some purpose? I've come to believe the later-he says on X-and it helps to ignore the inconsequential ones. most days 😁

🚨Let me EXPLAIN why JOBS will be optional
AI keeps getting better. robots keep getting cheaper. eventually machines can do almost every job faster and better than humans. coding, writing, manufacturing, farming, even surgery.
when that happens, machines produce almost everything we need.
food. homes. medicine. energy. transportation.
and they produce it at extremely low cost.
so the old reason humans work disappears.
today we work because we need money to survive. but if machines create massive abundance, survival is no longer tied to having a job.
people will still work. but it will look different.
you might build things, create art, start companies, research science, or explore space. not because you have to, but because you want to.
kind of like growing vegetables in your backyard. you can buy them at the store, but some people still enjoy growing them.

@_kaitodev @garrytan @karpathy All jobs will be optional. There will be universal high income.

JUST IN: OpenAI CEO Sam Altman predicts intelligence will be sold to people on a meter, “like electricity or water”

when it’s our turn to be an adult:
> rent
> car payment
> health insurance
> student loans
> phone bill
> internet bill
> groceries
> fucking intelligence meter (sama’s new idea)
non-optional AI meter is insane.
OpenAI is still a nonprofit organization btw.

@Dan_Jeffries1 It's crazy how fast the news cycle goes. It seems forgotten about already

One of the biggest hallucinations today is thinking models are "nerfed" after a few weeks.
This is sometimes true.
We saw with Seedance 2.0 when they let it go viral with real people and saw a shitstorm of legal blowback from Big IP, but for most models it generally nonsense. Other times companies do swap models in the background under load. All true.
But usually it's something else.
Reality setting in.
The problem is that after a few weeks of use you notice how NOT human models are and how NOT AGI as they stumble in familiar ways.
They felt like magic when you first tried them and in many ways they are but after a few weeks, it's like any relationship, you start to see the warts.
