So thrilled to see our collaborative publication with @tedradonc, @ma5RN and many others now online in @JCO_ASCO These data from a large, multinational cohort provide further support for EBRT's role in the management of HCC. ascopubs.org/doi/10.1200/JC…

Congratulations @ma5RN @tedradonc @AndrewMMoon in this impressive work positioning EBRT as a key locoregional treatment in #HCC! Proud to have been part of this joint effort between @BCLC_gr and the radiation oncology community 🙌 #RadOnc
BCLC GROUP@BCLC_group

Major international IPD effort by @ma5RN @AndrewMMoon and @tedradonc crafting a great team to assess the survival of almost 5000 HCC patients treated with EBRT and stratified by BCLC stage. Best information available to consider EBRT in clinical practice pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42139645/

#radonc, what do you think the alpha/beta is for HCC? 6? 10? How about a/b>30! tinyurl.com/486t87ma But don't interpret this to mean HCC is highly radiosensitive (it's more intermediate). Authors make the case that this is partly due to an insensitivity to fractionation

BCLC 2025 update is live and introduces a new framework (CUSE) that aims to guide clinicians and patients through the many dilemmas encountered when making treatment decisions. Congrats to the @BCLC_group and thank you all, esp @ma5RN , for the opportunity to contribute!
BCLC GROUP@BCLC_group

The BCLC 2025 model for prognosis and treatment recommendation is available in press. journal-of-hepatology.eu/article/S0168-… In brief, it will be presented by @ma5RN with introduction of the CUSE concept #about" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">bclccuse.ai/#about Major relevance for clinical decision making @hospitalclinic

Radiation oncologists #radonc **do not** radiate tumors Unless it's some weird AI video, or if a rad onc could contract devil facial tumor disease, etc.

More disappointing news in #HCC: Adjuvant pembrolizumab failed to beat surveillance in the global P3 #KEYNOTE-937 trial (NCT03867084). Merck disclosed the negative result quietly in an SEC filing. Not unexpected after #IMbrave050

Exciting to bring the tech to USA. I hope the lessons on proton are not repeated. Over 40,000 patients have been treated with carbon ion worldwide. Unclear what cancers this enhances your ability to treat. It is ok to bring new tech and do research with it and not claim it is better until proven to be. Keeps equipoise for RCTs. I truly hope this won’t be a way to attract patients to pay high out of pocket costs for a treatment without proven superiority….please don’t start advertising for things like prostate and breast cancer. Kudos for bringing it to USA!
Mayo Clinic@MayoClinic

Today, Mayo Clinic opened the Duan Family Building, taking another step in our journey to introduce carbon ion therapy for patients in the Americas. This revolutionary treatment will enhance our ability to treat aggressive cancers. Learn more: mayocl.in/4mYTVme
