oh man, this hurts. I read the Ramona books over and over as a kid and felt so seen as a fellow loud little girl who definitely had ADHD but at the time just thought she was a “nuisance.” Beverly Cleary’s books really meant so much to me.

An enormously long life, yet still so sad. In addition to her children's books, I really recommend her memoirs, A Girl From Yamhill and My Own Two Feet—I read them over and over and still think about her stories of growing up in the Depression and starting out as an author often
