BREAKING NEWS Season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has officially completed filming, marking a major milestone for the next chapter of the Middle-earth saga. Production wrapped in the United Kingdom in December 2025, and the show is now moving into post-production. The new season will reportedly jump forward in the timeline and focus on the height of the war between the Elves and Sauron, as he begins the plan to forge the One Ring and tighten his control over Middle-earth. Major characters like Galadriel, Elrond, and Sauron are expected to return, with new cast members also joining the story.

I loathe people like this. But culture is culture. Some cultures do not prioritise minimising inconvenience for others at the cost of their own convenience. So in Singapore (where we unfortunately do not have this culture naturally) we solved this by making it mandatory by law to clear your trays at hawker centres and food courts. You can be fined up to $300 if you're caught. Some people here were really upset when they instituted this. It didn't matter to me though cos I was already clearing my trays because I'm not an entitled, uncivilised pig.

@Variety She's not wrong but context matters. Some jokes were retired because they were genuinely harmful not just uncomfortable. The challenge is distinguishing between discomfort that create insight and discomfort the just hurts people.

"Friends" star Lisa Kudrow says new sitcoms are “too afraid” to make jokes that make audiences “uncomfortable”: "But I’m not drawn to new sitcoms that are multi-camera in front of an audience because I’m not buying it. I don’t know if that’s just because I’ve seen too many single-camera sitcoms—I think we need to get back to being able to tell jokes. I feel like we’ve been too afraid to make jokes that might make people uncomfortable.” variety.com/2026/tv/news/l…

Starfleet Academy star Kerrice Brooks urges fans not to hate the show because of DEI: “If it’s not nice, like, let’s just talk about it. Don’t just say, like, I hate it because it’s DEI. Tell me you hate it because of something else, and then we can have a conversation.” Is DEI a valid reason to hate Starfleet Academy?

Zara Larsson defends Chappell Roan to The Guardian: “When a woman has boundaries, I think people freak out. Men can do violent criminal things and people applaud them, but when a woman says, ‘Stop following me,’ it’s controversial? It’s like: you guys just hate women, actually.”

Look at this screenshot from a dashcam. I'm sure you have seen the video. That grey Honda. That motorcycle ahead. A few seconds after this was taken, that man lost his life. He had left home that Sunday morning to get something for his kids. That was his whole plan for the day. But he never made it home. The driver of that grey car was drunk and high on drugs at the same time. Before noon on a Sunday. I keep staring at this screenshot because in this frame, everything still looks completely normal. Just another morning on a Malaysian road. And then it wasn't. I've been fortunate to travel to many countries over the years. And one thing I consistently notice, whether it's a developed nation or somewhere like Morocco, you feel enforcement on the roads. Not just during holidays. Regularly. It becomes part of how you drive. Here in Malaysia, the laws are actually quite strict on paper (should be even more strict). Drunk driving carries a minimum RM8,000 fine and 3 years jail. If someone dies, the driver faces up to 15 years in prison. I'm not saying enforcement isn't happening. I think it is. But not in the way people feel it in their everyday lives. And that's the issue... His kids are still waiting for him to come home. To everyone in a position to change this, please make enforcement something people feel every single day. Salam Takziah to the family.

James Gunn on why he only race swaps white characters: "That’s pretty simple. Because 95% of all superheroes have historically been white it makes sense as we start adapting them to film in the modern era that some characters who were originally white become another ethnicity to more accurately reflect our world. In most cases, it would not make sense to take a character originally another ethnicity and make them white because there are already so many white superheroes.” Should this have disqualified him from running DC?

Thailand is considering shortening the tourist visa from 60 days to 30 days due to widespread frustration with tourist behaviour. Main complaints by nationality by Thais: Chinese tourists: Travel in large, loud groups, often rude and disrespectful. Refuse Thai food, only eat Chinese cuisine. Frequent littering and ignoring religious site rules. Indian tourists: Large groups that litter beaches. Loud public behaviour. Aggressive haggling. Refuse to follow venue rules. Dominant presence in sex tourism areas like Pattaya. Low spending compared to other tourists. Many working illegally. Hygiene issues. Russian tourists: Drunken, disruptive behaviour. Shirtless in public. Fighting and rowdy antics Sense of entitlement. Working illegally. Israeli tourists: Strong sense of entitlement. Unpaid bills. Public intoxication. Aggressive and disrespectful behaviour. British tourists: Stag and hen night culture. Blackout drinking. Shirtless in public. Bar fights and disorderly conduct.
