@JackAttacks1 a) I didn't say he wasn't intelligent. b) You said he was a pencil necked ivory tower type. He wasn't.

St. Paul was trained as a Pharisee under Gamaliel and St. Luke was a physician. They were elites. St. Paul's qualifications would be a first century Jewish version of a Harvard educated WASP 70 years ago. And God used them to build his Church, just as he used fishermen to build his Church.

Yes, most were "roughnecks", but St. Paul and St. Luke, whose writings make up a majority of the New Testament, were "ivory tower pencil necks".

@Thatbrian @MrLeadslinger @lsferguson The problem is that everyone cant be in the trades. Not enough jobs to go around. If the economy collapses as it appears to be doing, there won't be any trades jobs for the current trades men

This is a perfect example of the Boomer disconnect that pisses off Millennials and Zoomers. Your power-washing gig got crushed because illegal immigrants — getting free housing and food on our dime — underbid you into oblivion. Then your coding job was handed to an H-1B visa Indian. So what’s your advice now, @DaveRamsey?
Yonan@yonann

Dave Ramsey says a $600 pressure washing job can be the first step to making 150K a year "You don’t want to be 63 years old still pressure washing. But to get through this week, you can do a lot of pressure washing" "Use the pressure washing money to pay $10,000 for code school, then go make 150K a year coding, every move should be a step toward where you want to be in 10 years"

@AdamauldinActor He's not all wrong about debt, but telling people to not invest in company-matching 401k when they have *any amount* of debt is ridiculous.

@Thatbrian Agreed. We can't stand Fat Davey. He tells folks with reasonable debt to wipe out their entire savings and stocks just to pay down 1/3 of their debt and live on a 1k emergency fund paying off the rest and starting over middle age. dominionwealthstrategists.com/adam-mauldin

@alec_zegura @_cooleb I had the same experience. Listen to Dave regarding debt helped me tremendously, but he is dead wrong on investing and much of what to do once you are out of debt.

@Thatbrian @_cooleb He gives good advice if you are a 55 IQ with money or sub 600 credit scores. I was $65K in debt four years ago, followed him for a year. It worked. But once you are out of the big hole… his advice gets worse and you realize he’s taking you on too long of a route

@_cooleb About 1/3 of my job (trade related) is fixing what incompetent people have done incorrectly. I've learned to embrace it. It pays the bills.

@Thatbrian Half my job as an engineer is using the "great resources we have", code for giving my projects to someone halfway across the world, let them do a half baked job and then I get to deal with the fall out of their inability to comprehend basic English for the next year. I hate it.

No one is trying to abort a 34 week old baby as an elective procedure… unless there is a fatal or devastating medical diagnosis for the baby, or the baby is not viable and is risking the life of the mother. No one. They’re also like 1% of abortions. Folks have lied to you. Thankfully, numbers are available to prove that point.

And if it was 100% it would still be murder because God is the arbiter of morality and not the whims of the current population of Texas, Erin
ErinEpley@ErinEpley

@SlowToWrite Speaking of telling the truth, something like 87% of Texans believe in some access to abortion.

@Thatbrian 💯. Most of what Dave says is good advice... if we were living in 1995. He's totally disconnected from present reality.

Morally, you’re certainly entitled to believe abortion is murder and to vote accordingly. 1A Having prosecuted child sex abuse cases, I am in the 87% who support some access to abortion. Having seen dear friends, pregnant with babies they desperately wanted, get devastating news about the progress of Trisomy & have no options for local care, I’m in the 87%. Having seen a dear friend close to death on her delivery date prevail (but wondering if it had been a closer call), I am in the 87%.
