I was raised Mormon. This is an incredibly disrespectful and stupid accounting of the prophet of the Lord restoring the true gospel of Jesus Christ to the Earth, the way prophets of the Bible acted as intermediaries between God and Man.
The "hat" thing...I think the poor kid just put his face in a hat to black out the light so he could focus on God's voice. He wasn't reading out of a hat.

The Church is the institution. The people come and go. And yeah, temporarily, they make up a part of it, like skin cells on a body. But a body sheds all its skin cells every so many days. The institution, the whole, the complete thing, the authority structure, that's what actually endures.
And that authority structure decided, the better part of a century ago now, that the TLM is dead and gone.

Neither my circus nor my monkeys anymore, but this is a too-little, too-late, too-low-effort cleanup operation after Francid launched a nuke at the trads. There will be a handful of bishops who may or may not take this as permission to return to the Summorum Pontificum status quo. But most won't change a damn thing. They didn't suppress the TLMs in their dioceses to be obedient to Rome, they did it because they wanted to. Bishops have never rushed to implement liturgical norms they don't like, and this time wasn't any different.
If nothing is mandated, it will be easier to leave the landscape razed and salted.
And if the Holy Spirit had anything to do with how the episcopacy operates, I think the Church would look a lot different than it does, so let's not pretend the buck stops with him.
