If anyone who studies horseshoe crabs also knits and wants to test knit this new sweater design…test call goes out in about a week and I will be prioritizing horseshoe crab researchers and folks who could potentially take a picture of a crab with their crab sweater…

@MeHMoore1 Haha I knit sweaters on commission starting around $1.5k :) it’s a big commitment and a huge amount of work, but there are people who knit on commission for much cheaper if you buy the pattern once it’s out!

@the_leafhopper I don't knit, but I'd buy one for my sister-in-law who lives on the Delaware Bay! Her beach front is crowded with horseshoe crabs both tagged and untagged.

(2/3) who will be continuing to work on this with me, and I won the juried art exhibition at the Entomological Society of America for entomology themed knitwear. I knit and asked questions in fantastic talks alongside other knitters. People came up to me all day wanting to talk

(1/3) at my previous institute I was told that knitting in seminars/etc was unprofessional, rude, and distracting. That fidget toys were acceptable but not knitting. Yesterday I co-hosted the first entomology knitting circle, helped form a group of dedicated crafters

Our Leafhoppers in North America symposium was a huge success with 70 attendees! We covered exciting topics like climate change, migration, vectoring capacity, brochosomes, biocontrol, and RNAi. This event was dedicated to Dr. Lowell R. “Skip” Nault, a pioneering expert in leafhoppers who organized the first-ever leafhopper symposium—this being only the second in @EntsocAmerica history. An amazing #EntSoc24 so far! 🐞
