I keep hearing “Voting is a right—you shouldn’t need to show ID for it.” So I ask: “Is healthcare also a right?” They almost always say yes. Then I follow up: “Okay… so why do I need to show ID every time I go to the doctor, pick up a prescription, or get my meds at the pharmacy?🤷‍♀️

I'm seeing him fighting the officers the entire time, they yelled gun, he kept fighting, not displaying his hands, trying to get back up, and reached for something. He got shot as he was getting back up. One of the agents with years of experience dealing with countless numbers of people resisting arrest in this single moment that his life was in imminent danger. That happened.

@Egotiator @GuntherEagleman It's not stupid what ifs. Alex was on his stomach and surrounded by federal agents. If there were more guns, that's what a frisk is for. Not immediately pulling the gun out and shooting someone in the back once followed by a mag dump of the pistol.

Yeah but within the second or two of that happening, the agents did not gain omnipotence to know that. You can tell they really thought he had a gun cuz on all their body cams and the cameras filming them, they're looking for his gun after he's shot. So they clearly thought he had a gun, and they were correct. He did have a gun in his waistband as he was resisting arrest and yanking his arms away and preventing himself from being flat on the ground, which was incredibly poor judgment on his part btw. Especially after "gun" was yelled, I would have displayed my hands. An agent feared for his life and that of his fellow officers. That happened. That officer, with years of experience and training dealing with some of the most violent people, in his judgment, feared for his life in that moment. Alex made an officer feel that way with his actions. Alex also seemed to not know he was disarmed as he was reaching for that area when the officer felt like the threat was imminent. So yeah, maybe a bad call, and I really stress maybe because if he was reaching, then I'm not sure what other call you could have made. And removing one gun doesn't mean there's no other firearms on his person either. It's all a lot of stupid what-ifs from you guys. What did the agent know at the time? That's all that matters.
