@BillBrasky2620 Pillaging 70s & 80s & 90s TV shows for the basic premise of a movie is a time honoured move. Unfortunately it's the surprisingly rare successes that perpetuate the trend. The Fall Guy is better material because the source already had a silly tone - it's not a flip.

If this movie ends up doing well, I'm going to count it as a win for original movies, because although it's IP-based, it's IP that no one knows is IP!
(Except people who are, like, over 50 and watched TV in the early '80s)

yeah i totally agree on the brilliance in that regard. there is certainly lots of room to ponder the turn of events. I just like the idea that the boy was so smart he made that up to guarantee his mother being let off. His lack of sight is more than made up 4 by his intelligence

@therealmarky I think that's on you though. The two different techniques might just be to reflect that one event had a recording whereas the other did not - not necessarily that one was more real than the other. The brilliance of the film is in the viewers freedom to interpret its techniques.

you mean the audio was documented but the visual not. but the boys story was audio and visual from his head. his voice over his father's lips to me implied it was all fiction.

@therealmarky @AwardsDaily The film presents this 'reality' in the exact same fashion as the actualisation of the recorded argument so - it's really in the eye of the beholder as to whether you believe his statement or not.

yeah something like that. I always ask before ordering a pie "is it shortcrust and pastry bottom too?" 90% of the time is a lousy puff top..

The Firm must be one of the most Rewatchable movies of all time. It’s never dull. Always compelling. A wired Cruise and a purposefully subdued Hackman. Then Holly Hunter, Busey. Ed Harris, Strathairn, Holbrook, Tripplehorn…all throwing bombs. Crazy cast.

@Baileymoon15 They're just shit. The handles are too short for a shoulder, way too short for 'cross body' and too long to hang by your side from a hand. Just useless all round. Especially as I have the shoulders of a dolphin in the first place.
