It's as good a day as any to leave Twitter. The world has bigger problems, but like stopping eating animals, getting off Twitter is clearly the right thing to do and costs me very little. I'll be working over the next week on migrating, prob to Indieweb and Mastadon. Bye.

@IsaakDeMaio In the words of @isaakdemaio, Let's go! I'll post my migration route here once I figure it out. But first I need to get all caught up with my classes and research sigh.

“The major problems of this manuscript is that the authors failed to use quantitative tools… Consequently, this manuscript is full of not-so-convincing verbal discussions. This is THE most important issue this reviewer would like to point out.”

@MiaSShaw :/ The main conversation here isn't about me, but my ethnography-curious ears pricked up at all this self-definition of CS Ed. Declaring qual methods illegitimate means presuming the validity of existing constructs and ruling out conceptual/paradigmatic change.

"As a result, their results are not very convincing and this type of CSED researcher had a tendency to reject quantitative based work. What a pity!”

"A quantitative approach is much more convincing than a verbal summary. Unfortunately, in recent years more CSED researchers aimed for qualitative approaches rather than quantitative approaches."

@MiaSShaw When I came back for a PhD, the library still remembered I had $52 in overdue fees though.

OK. First day teaching Intro Python for Everyone! Enrollment is now 259, but we've got the most incredible team of TAs and an amazing foundation built by Sarah Van Wart. 1st day message: "Sure, programming is useful, but it's also something that can enrich the human experience".

@VicariousLee PAPPG, while very specific about vertical spacing, is silent on horizontal spacing. Reviewers tend to appreciate the increased information density.

that point in grant proposal writing when you decide all prepositions, adjectives, conjunctions, and adverbs have to go because the system keeps rejecting the document and its font size. Pretty much down to: "I propose project. You fund? Thank."
