@MrPitbull07 Exactly why we pulled our 4 kids and homeschool them. If covid taught us anything, family time is our first priority. We will go on vacation when we see fit, I don’t care about school and their BS

“This is why public school is a JOKE. And honestly… I’m concerned for the next generation of kids. A couple weeks ago, we pulled our kids out of school to take them on vacation. They’re in 3rd grade, 2nd grade, and kindergarten. We let the teachers know ahead of time. Asked for assignments so they wouldn’t fall behind. Their response? “Don’t worry about it… we’ll catch them up when they get back.” No big deal, right? Except the day we leave… the school district starts hounding us. Threatening to report us to the county if the kids miss any more days. Our kids rarely miss school. Are we seriously not allowed to take them anywhere?? Fast forward: we get back, and my son comes home with a mountain of worksheets. No explanation. No instruction. Just, “Here. Figure it out.” So he spends hours working through it over the next week. And I’m looking at this stuff thinking… what the hell is this?? Keep in mind, I’m college-educated and run multiple successful businesses. And I can’t even make sense of it. Questions like: “Sam has 155 clams. Richard gives him 137 peaches. If the cows moo while facing north, how many snow cones does he have?” What are they even learning in there? Then — a week later — his teacher messages us: “He got almost all the answers wrong. He’s now failing English.” So we reach out. Ask if he can redo the assignments. Not just for a better grade… but so he can actually learn the material. Her response? “No. He can’t redo it.” We try to work with her. Offer to compromise. Her answer? “Maybe you shouldn’t go on vacation.” I’m done, dude. Our kids are in ELEMENTARY school. And this is already the circus we’re dealing with. I don’t want to homeschool. I never thought I’d even consider it. But the way this system is run? It’s starting to look like the better option. So here’s my honest question: What are we supposed to do? Because if this is the best public education can offer… No wonder kids are falling behind.” ~Mike Wingard

@GeneSteratore Because he did possess the ball until the Corner somersaults over him and yanks it out. I can see that at full speed andvatbthevtimrvit happened

At some point when reviewing plays, the league should consider adding a speed threshold for anything involving the element of time. When you slow plays down to 1/100th the speed, it distorts what actually happened and makes it look like, in this case, Cooks possessed the ball for seconds prior to losing it. The game is not played in slow motion or frame by frame. For a catch: A) Secure control of the ball ✅ B) Two feet down in bounds ✅ C) After (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, clearly performs any act common to the game (e.g., extend the ball forward, take an additional step, tuck the ball away and turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so. C is where there is a judgement needed since A and B are clearly met. Now consider this note to the rule: If a player, who satisfied (a) and (b), but has not satisfied (c), contacts the ground and loses control of the ball, it is an incomplete pass if the ball hits the ground before he regains control, or if he regains control out of bounds. Because Cooks did lose control of the ball when he contacted the ground and the ball never contacted the ground, it was ruled an interception by Denver.

@tim3435 Depends what the qualifiers would be. Benjamin Vandervoort attended old Gasport school (pre-RH merger) and didn't graduate from it (moved in teen years).

@bobconfer We are homeschooling all 4 of our kids this year! They don’t lack any social interaction as we found some co-ops that they like and found great friends in them. Homeschooling is huge in North Carolina.

Maddening what Lee has made of Buffalo News. Had long been part of my life: Read parents' copy when I was a kid Got it every day from newsstand at college Been subscribing since my 20s Get this: As an active participant in the community, the BN no longer serves my needs :(

Six days a week for a metropolitan/regional newspaper. My plan, long before today's announcement, was that my current subscription to the Buffalo News, which runs out this month, was my last. @LeeEntNews has absolutely gutted it. buffaloguild.org/2025/10/03/buf…

@bobconfer My first real experience of eating something in the wild as a Boy Scout was Puffball. Did our 5 mile hike with our scoutmaster and he spotted it and we stopped to start a fire and grill it up in butter! Delicious!!

A fall harvest to enjoy is the giant puffball. If you cut it open to find it's pure white, it's good to eat (otherwise, if yellow or brown, spores are developing). Slice it thin, peel it, fry in butter with some salt and pepper. Some people put a light breading on it #Nature365
