@RobViper Also the example being used is the 1973 match vs Destroyer. Both that and the 1974 matches are classics. And Mil held his more than his own. Yet beyond 1980, there is barely anything worthwhile. Especially for a guy who wrestled for another 30+ years.

Like who is Mil to dictate what's worth selling and what isn't? He was like that from Day 1 by all accounts, it's not like he was so great & everyone was immediately beneath him. He just refused to look weak against anyone. It was all ego not some high end psychology.

I guess it depends what you look for. I admire the Negro Casas types more who would get in the ring with a shitty dude & make them look like a million bucks. To me that's the art. We don't have enough guys like that today who worry about the taking as much as the giving.

@davemeltzerWON Dave and the WON are invaluable resources and have helped me so much as a fan in terms of learning and understanding. And then something like this is said and you just shrug…not even the regrading but just the rewatching.

It would be beyond stupid to do so. Wrestlers do matches for the time and place, nobody in 2000 does matches for 2026.

No. How can you not see this? When you do this, you annoy, anger, and upset a segment of fans who support NXT. And you know what they turn around and do? Take it out on the person you complimented bedside they dislike you or what you said. Is that fair to the person you complimented? Usually you do this to adults and I either leave it alone or message you privately about it. But this time you did it to a 14 year old kid. Now there will be a corner of the internet that will always hold what YOU said against HIM. I respect your work and contributions to the industry more than most. But be better Dave. Stop tearing down the young men and women trying to learn their craft and get better in front of a global television audience. And for goodness sake, learn to compliment a 14 year old young man without making things harder for him.

Tomorrow, March 26, will be the one-year anniversary of Ross Hodge’s hiring at WVU. He had to assemble an ENTIRE basketball roster in that short amount of time to play in the No. 1 basketball conference in America. His team was picked to finish 11th and it placed 7th.
