Congratulations to @tranceeffectO from Nagaland for making it to the Top 16 at the Gwangju Busking World Cup Festival held in South Korea. The band were selected from among 900 applicants from around the world !! It’s definitely a welcome achievement for Nagaland and hope that more bands can participate in the auditions in the coming years. The event is a fantastic platform for exposure, creates opportunities for networking & cultural exchanges and an avenue to showcase musicians to the international music industry. This participation and reach is another result of the Asia Music Summit that was held in Nagaland. A big thank you to the organisers for hosting our artistes and felicitating their travel. We look forward to a continued partnership.

If we don’t reach out, we will not reach… Music/band LIVE showcasing has become very important in an era of reels and highly staged and curated music videos where sometimes/often it’s very difficult to judge or point raw and genuine talent/s. Thankfully, for the very passionate and serious musicians who are looking to further their career in the music industry and join fellow musicians worldwide 🌍, there is a very positive emerging trend in the country, namely, music market summits and music/band showcasing, one good one being All About Music - Mumbai, and from what I gather, many more such music summits are being planned across the country by various stakeholders. Nagaland had the privilege of hosting the 4th Edition of - Asia Music Summit ( AMS) from 1-3 February this year in associations with Music Connect Asia led by Kaushik Dutta. During the AMS, TaFMA Government of Nagaland invited 14 festival directors from across the globe to get a feel of our music on ground, and the take aways are huge and encouraging. The Asia Music Summit introduced Trance Effect (a participant at the AMS showcase) to the world, and today their hard work and dedication over 7 years has paid off, they have been recognise and spotted from over 900 entries from 58 countries to participate at the finals of the famous Gwangju Busking World Cup Festival, this is commendable and I congratulate the band. Apart from Trace Effect, quite a few who participated at the AMS showcase have been well appreciated from festival directors who were present, and over time, we should see more artistes making inroads into festivals around the world. So, to all reading this, especially musicians who are feeling hopeless and lost, next time you hear of a showcase somewhere/anywhere, PLEASE don’t take it lightly or give a ‘I-don’t-care attitude.’ The music world is highly competitive and only the strong, brave and hungry will survive. Trace Effect is a trend setter, and we all can learn from each other. Always remember if we don’t reach out, we will never reach… Thank you for your time, Yours in the service, - Theja Meru 🙏
