It misrepresents God when we tell victims of atrocious, life-changing abuse to simply forgive and forget. Forgiveness of any wrong, let alone a life-shattering one, is never a “just do it” task.

Sue Bird came out publicly at 37, she talks about her challenges, the marketing pressure that was put on her. She was sexualised and left on her own to fend for herself. Candace Parker had her own story. We need to do better for young female athletes, Azzi deserves better.

@sanasenpaiii Maybe I’m protective of these two young women, but the comments they receive from people is simply inappropriate. The freedom people feel they have to make inappropriate comments about women, but specifically lgbtqia women is mind boggling

All these think pieces just because a woman chose not to answer a question about her personal life. What is it with men feeling so entitled to women’s boundaries?

Azzi Fudd deserves to be treated like a woman, yet the PR team babies her. LeBron answers questions about Bronny. Aaron Rodgers answers questions about his wife. Bam answers questions about A’ja Wilson. Azzi Fudd, a #1 overall pick should be able to field questions about dating her teammate. WNBA contracts are larger than ever, exposure is at an all time high, take the muzzle off of journalists mouths and the pacifier out of the players’ mouths. Treat these women like the adults they are.

Concerning the Azzi question from the reporter, as someone who, until recently, worked in journalism for more than a decade after my teaching career, I have to say it would almost be a dereliction of duty for a true journalist not to ask the question. It is Azzi’s right not to answer, of course, but someone swooping in like she’s a child was not the way to go. To those saying that it’s no one’s business who someone dates, I may be inclined to agree 1) if they were not teammates (which is why they shouldn’t be) and 2) if the league didn’t pride itself (no pun intended) on flaunting these things before the public at every opportunity.

Hey hey hey... that’s part of the game…From the test of time, nothing has been off limits. That reporter had the right to ask that question. If they are dating..they are dating what’s the problem? Women wanting to be paid millions of dollars comes with it all. When hasn’t the media been in an athlete's personal business?
