Four days before Easter last year, I was at the lowest point in my recent memory. I was sad and depressed. I thought Charleston wasn’t where I wanted to be, and that I had made the wrong decision on where to live and work. I was lost on my purpose vocationally and personally. I wanted to leave baseball. I wanted to get out of coaching. I didn’t know what to do. I was out of options (or so I thought) So I fasted for 90 hours. A friend brought me to the first Bible-preaching church I ever walked into on Easter Sunday 2025. A year later, I am a baptized Christian man with incredible brothers in Christ, an incredible church community, and more fulfillment, purpose, and direction than I could have ever imagined. God called me to stay in the game, metaphorically and Physically. It’s a testament to how great God is. His resurrection, the power of the passion, and the gospel are so powerful and so incredible a testament to what He did for us, and what He continues to do, because He is alive. The Son, the Father, and the Holy Spirit all work through us. If we are obedient and give ourselves the time, space, and humility to follow him, he will answer our prayers. I wanted brothers. I wanted community. I wanted purpose. I wanted to pour into people, receive love, and give love. all things outlined in Scripture of what Christ wants us to do as we follow Him. I’m always going to feel inadequate as His follower and disciple because I’ll never be perfect. I’m a flawed human, a black-hearted sinner who falls short constantly. but the fact that He paid the price for me means I can always come back to Him and still receive that love and grace. Let that be a testimony to how powerfully He can work in your life.

I was talking with a friend the other day who mentioned that the foot injury I am dealing with is Jesus demanding my attention. And I think he was right. I go through seasons where reading the word, spending time in community and praying all come secondary to physical training and work. And it leaves me feeling dull, disconnected and spiritually warm. Reframing this Injury as an opportunity to reconvene the fire I had for the Lord, pour into the brothers around me and dedicate time to Ministry and fellowship has been a huge eye opener. And Im grateful for it all. It’s not a setback. It’s a set plan. And all we can do is pray, listen and follow. He is so good!

The self-help hamster wheel has destroyed more people than its helped Because all it does is leave them more lost and purposeless than before. It relies on you seeking answers from a flawed person, just like yourself. So of course it’s not going to work. If you can lean on the highest of powers. The King of all Kings. The LORD of all Lords, you will find everything that you are looking for and more. Surrender to him and he will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.”

Cross Necklaces. Cross Tattoos. Cross Stickers. Cross Clothing. Something about it doesn't feel right… The cross has become the most recognizable symbol in the world. But somewhere along the way, it got domesticated. I have one. I wear it around my neck every day. But it wasn't until recently I was able to recognize what the cross truly represents… 1 Corinthians 1:18 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." The world looked at the cross and saw weakness and disgrace. God looked at the cross and called it power. The cross wasn't a symbol first. It was an instrument of execution. Criminals died there. The rejected died there. Jesus died there. So when you wear it, display it, ink it into your skin does it mean something? Or is it just aesthetic? The cross only makes sense if you believe what happened on it. Shame became glory. Death became life. Weakness became the power of God. Don't just wear the cross. Know what it cost. Know what it means. Live like it changed everything.

Announcement: I made the decision to take up a role with Fellowship Of Christian Athletes and begin my journey into vocational ministry. This is made possible by the help of generous donors who want to help share Jesus with as many people as we can. God bless you all for your continued support. Let’s continue to live out the Great Commission. Link is in bio to donate. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them inthe name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:19-20

A year ago this week, I walked into a brand new church with no true friends in my new city, no fulfillment in my days, and no knowledge on the relationship that Jesus wanted with me. God is so good man. Through faith he delivered all the things I prayed for: Brothers in Christ. Community. Clarity of mind and direction. Peace. Kindness. Resilience in the face of temptation. Purpose. And tons of love. The people he brought into my life have been a blessing I couldn’t have conjured up with my own understanding. What a testament to how good of a God it is that we serve. I love Jesus man, and I love these people that love him too. The water doesn’t save me. The act doesn’t save me. Jesus already did that for me on the cross.

I don’t know why anyone in their right mind would need to consume 2+ lbs of ground beef per day. Eat more carbs and diversify your fat sources. Your health and performance will thank you.

Had someone stop me in the gym the other day to address my “Winners Circle” DRVN shirt (S/O @nickrgrs) “That’s a great book. The winners circle.” Me: “really? Who wrote it?” Him: “uhhh” This is literally how people treat their relationship with God. Know the Bible. Know the name “Jesus”. Verses plastered all over their social media accounts and bodies (tattoos) No clue who wrote it or have any relationship with either of them. Sad man.

The truth hurts. What’s great about building a relationship with Jesus is that he will give you tough love. He’s not here to pat you on the back and tell you how great you’re doing. He’s here to encourage you to grow into a more perfect image every single day. Want an easy life? Don’t follow Christ.

SIX times you’re told to “Lose Your Life” in the Gospels. Matthew 10:39, Matthew 16:25, Mark 8:35, Luke 9:24, Luke 17:33, and John 12:25 It’s scary to think of losing your life for something, but it’s whats required if you want to enter into the kingdom. The pursuit of ANYTHING other than the glory of what God promises us is secondary to how he wants us to truly live. Which is for him, his word and those who do not know him yet. Train, take care of yourself and live with the peace h gives you. But do not take your eyes off of him.

I moved for all the wrong reasons. The Beach. The leisure. The comfort. Nothing wrong with those things, but when they’re done out of selfish desire they will leave you empty. I considered leaving about 12 months ago. I thought there was nothing here for me. That it was all vanity and that my people and environment were elsewhere. The reality is that I was just like Zaccheus in the tree. Hiding from God and waiting for him to call me. Once I found it, there was no going back. I realized that I was home. And my people were all around me.
