Eating more than 1g per lb of BW in protein is destroying your performance. After .8-1g per lb of BW, it doesn’t fuel, aid recovery or build additional muscle. You need to allocate those calories toward: -Carbs (muscle sparing, glycogen) -High quality fats (hormones) -Fiber (protein synthesis, satiety, digestion)

I moved for all the wrong reasons. The Beach. The leisure. The comfort. Nothing wrong with those things, but when they’re done out of selfish desire they will leave you empty. I considered leaving about 12 months ago. I thought there was nothing here for me. That it was all vanity and that my people and environment were elsewhere. The reality is that I was just like Zaccheus in the tree. Hiding from God and waiting for him to call me. Once I found it, there was no going back. I realized that I was home. And my people were all around me. I was just a blind man that needed a hand.

People are shocked when they find out I don’t listen to anything while on long runs or working out. They’re even more shocked when I pull out my “Bluetooth headphones” and they realize that it’s actually a silicone earplug. Silencemaxxing is the key to physical AND mental gains.

I was ready to give up on my life. I’m still here. and now it’s my turn to run for someone else. I’m running alongside Ed Martin during a short portion of his 24-hour treadmill challenge on Friday Morning. 6 weeks later, ill be running the marathon portion of the Stony 100. Both runs will be to raise funds and awareness for Charleston Hope and the mental health crisis affecting students right here in Charleston. 70 people in Charleston County die by suicide every year.
