This photo was taken in 1946.
The guy is Ken Shimizu. He is 35 years old with two children.
Shimizu never runs, sleeps late, eats whatever he wants, even drink beer instead of water. He eats dinner with many kinds of food every night.
What does Shimizu do to get such a body? Shimizu doesn't have any secrets.
Shimizu is the person sitting in the bottom left corner of the photo.

@anandmahindra Also, time has come for Gukesh to leave the throne. Either he improve his form & show that he deserves to be World champion or lose to someone. The guy isn't even in Top 10 & gets his ass whipped in any big event he goes. What type of World Champion is this?
English

This is awesome news.
You’ve convincingly earned the right to challenge the reigning FIDE World Champion, Ju Wenjun later this year.
Congratulations Vaishali…
We’ll be cheering for you right through to the championship and we know we’ll be cheering you home as champion, too.
With Gukesh defending the World Championship title and Vaishali challenging for the Women’s crown, 2026 is shaping up to be the most extraordinary year in Indian chess history!

@anandmahindra Congrats to her for the Candidates win. But that's the beginning & the end of it. She is miles miles below Ju Wenjun. Vaishali can't even defeat Ju Wenjun in her dreams. Period.
English

@emilysears @softboywin Yea, worthwhile my ass. They go on opening their legs for any hideous male out there. So, definitely worthwhile. Cheap slutty sex hungry females. Again not to all but to most of the females ( who are like that) out there.
English

@softboywin Maybe cause you’re all weirdos about “body counts” and bullshit so they want to make sure a man is worthwhile before claiming them
English

@anishgiri What about Fabi. He is more stuck than you. He already won it two times. 😂
English

@EmilSutovsky Epic clash. Are you day dreaming? With Gukesh's current form, epic clash is impossible.
English

Gukesh-Sindarov will be an epic clash. The youngest ever for the biggest Title in chess. Two amazing players. Two real fighters. Courageous. Energetic. Determined. Composed. Both rely heavily on their outstanding calculation ability.
But there are significant differences of course. And the one who brings the betrer version of himself for the Match will prevail. In the coming week FIDE will be busy reviewing the options for the location.
Dates are set at the end of November - first half of December.
Question for the fans:
Of course, India and/or Uzbekistan are two logical options.
But if not there, where would you see it proper to be hosted?
English

@WesleySo_ @muchetwatinashe True Wesley. That's what caused Fabi to loose. 1.5 points deficit & seeing Sindarov running away made him go for extra in the position that didn't have any.
English

@muchetwatinashe Yes losing that drawish position was tough, but at that point he was already behind by 1.5 points
English

@Dixit__Nikhil Can understand why you are saying that as one to one matches are very different from Candidates matches. But again form matters. Sindarov is in great form, Gukesh isn't. So, the match format doesn't help. Would give Gukesh less than 50% chance of winning as of now. Javo has edge.
English

@PHChess You know what, just go and lick Magnus's ass and stop this BS crap. No wonder Anish blocked you. You deserved to be blocked.
English

@PHChess This is too much Peter. You got your bread & butter by helping your current master & Vishy by prepping for classical chess. And now just coz MC left World Championship, this is how you go against classical. Just look at the Candidates today, it's so much interesting.
English

@FIDE_chess Awesome 👌. While I don't like the fact that humpy had to opt out but I am so happy for Anna to be in the Candidates. Go Anna !
English

❗️Humpy Koneru withdraws from FIDE Women’s Candidates 2026; Anna Muzychuk steps in
🇮🇳 Humpy Koneru (India) has officially withdrawn from the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament 2026, scheduled to take place in 🇨🇾 Cyprus from March 28 to April 16.
In accordance with the tournament regulations, her place was offered to the next highest finisher in the Women’s Events Series 2024–25 who has not yet secured qualification. As a result, 🇺🇦 Anna Muzychuk (Ukraine) will join the tournament as her replacement.

English

@humpy_koneru @FIDE_chess given that the remaining 7 players are going, you should have shown some strength to participate. Now that she has dropped out, Anna Muzychuk for her replacement.
English

After deep reflection, I have taken the difficult decision to withdraw from the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament.
No event, no matter how important, can come before personal safety and well-being. Despite the assurances provided, I do not feel fully secure under the current circumstances.
This is a painful but necessary decision, and I stand by it.
English

@Chiragsharma26 @chess_feed That's true. Didn't think about that situation.
English

@chess_feed Yes, this is possible, considering there is a black piece available on h8 that white captures with a pawn to promote to a rook.

@PHChess @FIDE_chess @SergeyKaryakin @advorkovich @vishy64theking @EmilSutovsky @DanaReiznieceOz @iocmedia Two countries going to war, Karjakin is supporting his country. When war happens, people die. I think you know that. What is there to be angry about?
The root cause is you think Russia shouldn't attack Ukr. But that's your position. There are people who has opposite position.
English

I today send the following documentation to the @FIDE_chess Council, asking them to stop @SergeyKaryakin propaganda tournament in Moscow🇷🇺
Karjakin 🇷🇺 is the worst war propagandist in sports ever.

@rvivek @viditchess Now you get it. Don't you ? I have 6 & you have thousands & thousands of followers. So, you better be in Good shape. You have to answer those masses. When you are in public eye & elevated, you have bigger responsibility. Don't compare yourself to common 9-5 working masses.
English

@vedicsp @viditchess Thank you. I'm sure your 6 followers will like the tweet

Full pod with C̶h̶e̶s̶s̶ ̶G̶M̶ Vibe Coder, @viditchess
He trained an AI model to guess a player's rating just from their moves; and it was surprisingly accurate.
English

@rvivek @viditchess The pressure isn't on me to do anything. It's on him. Being GM, highlighted in media, big chess figure etc etc. They have the pressure, not common layman walking on steert, ignorant @rvivek. We have the right to scrutinize them & you too. Now, STFU & do your work !
English

@davit_ghazaryan @VBkramnik @FIDE_chess @FIDE_chess is showing big middle finger to @VBkramnik. That's their response.
English

@VBkramnik I guess, u are right. @FIDE_chess what's your opinion on this, former WC is raising legit question?

Important, I suddenly realised, there is an issue with forthcoming Candidates. According to FIDE regulations, seemingly Abdusattorov must replace Nakamura, based on following articles of FIDE official regulations:
1. Qualification place (rating) goes to a player with highest average rating from February 2025 to January 2026, but if he performed 40 rated games minimum.
In case he didn't, the next by rating substitutes him (Caruana) unless he didn't qualify otherwise. He did.
In such case this rating spot belongs to 2nd place from FIDE tour, it is Nodirbek Abdusattorov.
2. Any tournament with players 2700+ must be registered at least 30 days before start to be rated by FIDE. Based on open source information, Maritime open wasn't.
That means the tournament shouldn't be counted for rating, unless, in accordance with FIDE regulations, it wasn't decided otherwise by FIDE President.
This is the reason Karjakin was excluded from the list this month, exactly because of this regulation.
Therefore, if sticking to law, unless FIDE President personally signed this permission to count Maritime open before it was counted (I doubt), it can't be counted for rating, says clear article of FIDE regulations.
3. In such case farmer Nakamura lacking enough games to qualify for Candidates, and can go farm further in US fields, while Abdusattorov (who deserves ten times more anyways), must be in, based on FIDE Regulations.
So whether Mr. Dvorkovich presents signed in October formal permission to count for rating Maritime open ( and maybe explain reasons for that), or Abdusattorov have legal rights to participate in forthconing Candidates tournament, as I understand
That's what I found
@FIDE_chess provide comments on this please
