@vibecodedan Honestly the best updates always come from the harshest feedback. Respect for taking it on the chin and shipping the fixes — that's the indie dev way 💪

Wow. I posted jottle.app on a few threads on Reddit.
Someone actually read the privacy policy and ROASTED it.
I didn't appreciate the tone and it did sting at first.
But, there were good points! Updates made!
Feedback is good!

That idea you're about to forget? Jottle it.
Capture any thought mid-flow with the Jottle Chrome extension.
Check out the demo. Happy jottling!

@heyohelen At work, you discover the payments department is doing something illegal to boost the company’s stock price before the end of the quarter to look good for investors. If you report it, the company could go under and hundreds of people would lose their jobs.
English

@theboyfisco The dashboard is web-based. Jottles are categorized into to-dos, ideas, or thoughts and you can decide what to do with them from there. 😄
English

@vibecodedan The "without breaking flow" part is what makes this useful — that's the exact moment most thoughts get lost. Is the dashboard web-based or does it live in the extension?
English

My Chrome extension is published!
Doing some live testing. Have a few things to tidy up. Not aiming for perfection (does that even exist) before launching, but there are a couple of things that need fixing.
Super stoked!
Don't forget it. Jottle it!

@theboyfisco Jottle is a Chrome extension for you to capture thoughts without breaking flow. Just type your messy thought, and it gets sent to your dashboard titled, categorized, and the grammar cleaned up.

@vibecodedan Shipping before perfect is the only way. What does Jottle do?

@heyohelen @goldmanprize Well said! An inspired Helen is an impactful Helen.

i attended the @goldmanprize ceremony today and hearing all the stories of incredibly tough and often thankless work that quite literally spans decades makes me realize that many of us in the tech industry rly don’t focus on the right thing
“progress” and “at scale” isn’t always good
hard shit takes time. IT TAKES SO MUCH TIME. fast just means you might be overlooking something important.
and we really really need to understand what disruption means to everyone involved
it really does start with just one spark. one desire to do good, and you just might be the inspiration for so many countless others
overall it’s left me feeling super inspired and it’s helped me connect how I myself started off in environment sciences and ended up here in tech doing what I do lol

To anyone who's building or has built anything.
Let's take a moment to reflect and be proud.
Shoutout to @uxbykai for this reminder "that’s a real thing that did not exist 4 weeks ago and now does."
Share what's now in existence thanks to you!

@an_hyoung One that I hadn't considered is someone wanting to jottle multiple ideas or thoughts at once. So, instead of opening the extension multiple times, they can open it once and write a "thought storm".

@vibecodedan Browser extension reviews are the longest wait cycle in shipping — makes pre-launch tester feedback way more valuable than post-launch. Which improvement came from a tester suggestion you wouldn't have thought of yourself?
English

Stoked!
Got some great feedback on Jottle from a couple of wonderful people who tested it.
I can make some improvements while the extension is in review!
Don't forget it. Jottle it!

Great news! It only took an hour for my extension to get reviewed.
Bad news. It got rejected.
I'll fix what needs fixin' and try again!
Don't forget it. Jottle it.

@vibecodedan It is a great approach to prioritize shipping over perfect design. Jottle looks like a promising project and keeping it simple at the beginning is a smart move. You should consider sharing your progress on viberankdev to get more feedback.
English

I think I might actually be internalizing a lesson.
Started to design the Jottle logo and share image. Stopped myself a few minutes and said, "just do something quick and simple for now."
Boom. Done. Move on to the important stuff... like shipping.

@vibecodedan I don't think people appreciate how amazing accountability partners are! Just someone to check in on you and help give you an extra reason to follow through. Glad you caught it!
English

Thought I was ready for user testing.
Demoed it to my accountability partner before sending it out and found a HUGE problem.
A few hours of debugging and now I think we're good. But will take a break and come back refreshed to check one more time.

@vibecodedan It takes self awareness to know when to touch grass!!

I made a great product decision yesterday.
I stopped working when I felt totally cooked.
Better decisions are made clear-headed and refreshed.
Issues don't seem as big or complex.
