Elusive street artist Banksy said a new sculpture that appeared in central London of a man striding off a platform, with his face blinded by a billowing flag, is his work. In a video posted on his Instagram, Banksy showed snippets of how the sculpture was put up in the dead of night. wapo.st/4t8PBCI

🇮🇪 Irish Sayings You Should Know Before Visiting Ireland 🇮🇪 If you’re planning a trip to Ireland, you’ll definitely hear some phrases that make absolutely no sense the first time you hear them 😅 📸 The Irish Gem #Irishsayings #Ireland

@paulmurphy68 Yes because they didn't round up the locals (innocent and guilty) like most armies would. The mandarins knew they had to keep the conflict fairly low so it could blow over so soldiers were hamstrung and sacrificed.

In the 80s it took two platoons of British soldiers, constant mobile support and usually a helicopter for two peelers to go on foot patrol for half an hour in Ardoyne...

@k_neabs Correct. Also applies to the wastelands of bare hills and downs which need trees. Also the where theres the mono culture of grass there should be meadow species. Our country is way more wrecked than we know.

@Heccles94 People like you never seem concerned about English people though. I guess its easier to care about the distant other.

I’m not Jewish, and I’m not Muslim. I am however deeply concerned by attacks of individuals and places of worship due to people’s faith. I am also concerned about the media and politicians whipping up hate and division when attacks happen. I am also concerned about ethnic and religious groups being ethnically cleansed around the world. It’s called being human. End the hate.

@vuirich @IrishTimes The amount of energy I've expended would need to be measured in hundredths of a calorie. But yeah, sorry they upset you.

I always hated this when I was a teenager. I didn't know why, at the time, it was just repugnant. Looking back at it, it's self-evidently an attack on us. Look at how disgusting and ridiculous you are, it tells us. Pathetic, shallow, and unworthy of your ancestors.

Released in June 1998, “Vindaloo” became one of the defining unofficial anthems of the 1998 World Cup. Created by Fat Les, featuring Keith Allen, Blur’s Alex James and Damien Hirst, it reached number two in the UK behind “3 Lions 98” and turned terrace-chant nonsense into a full national singalong.

@vuirich It’s so much better to (a) do your research before revealing your total ignorance in such a public way and (b) also advisable not to succumb to the idiotic paranoia of the moron. In summary then; ignorant & moron. Got that? Good.
