Don't fall for it fellas. This guy is the new primary blue-chip MM, and it's sliding price up and pulling/replacing offers BUT still being top of book, sell-side. He's keeping his distance on bids -- again, while walking the book up in order to mitigate adverse selection risk. I don't think there's another app that can identify/profile market participants like @bkdplx does.

I blew up today. Full transparency. Evals gone. Fundeds gone. Some right before payout. Took a pre-market trade, which I almost never do. The trade ended in a loss and the rest is history. Deep down I knew I should’ve been more careful lately. Personal life has been stressful, and that always leaks into trading. When you trade full-time, taking a pause sounds easy… but it isn’t. Now I don’t really have a choice. I’ll take it. I’ll be back.

I have found a “glitch in the matrix” trading strategy where I wake up and I know I’ll make money, usually at least 2k a day. I haven’t had a red day since starting this 6 months ago, and the furthest I’ve gone in unrealized drawdown on any given day is -$200. The worst part is that I can’t tell or teach it to anyone I know, or I’d risk leaking my edge.

Almost all of us will deal with tick data at some point in our careers. Even a MFT book will likely deal with tick data to transform it into some aggregated form. Unlike aggregated price data, it can be tricky to deal with the large volume of data in real time. Most practitioners will implement some kind of filter for both historical/live to catch any outliers. There are "goldilocks" methods that allow us to approximate "optimal filtering" when dealing with millions and millions of rows, and this article discusses exactly one of them!
