@cwillaert @AaronGleeman Agree. Also think the manager makes a difference. It’s early for Shelton but I like how he at least lets the starters go deep into the pitch count. Hated seeing Rocco pull a starter after 75 pitches and I know the starters probably hated that as well.

It absolutely matters. It's much easier to relax, have fun and play hard when you don't have BS distractions in the clubhouse/dugout dragging you or the team down. A "clubhouse cancer" is a real thing. Teams do better without those.

After last night's win, I asked manager Derek Shelton if anything had given him the sense this turnaround would be coming when the Twins started 3-6.
I thought his answer was interesting, because it included on-field and off-field factors.

The logistics of this are fascinating. They can't play games the previous Friday or Saturday ... so they'd either have to have two teams coming off a bye OR incorporate the previous Thursday for the teams playing that Wednesday.
Or just make players play on 3 days rest 😳

NFL now is exploring playing a game on Thanksgiving Eve as early as this season. This year this would be Wednesday, Nov. 25.
