MIT just dropped the Iceberg Index: AI can already do tasks worth 11.7 % of all US wages. Only 2.2 % is in obvious tech jobs — the other 9.5 % is quietly eating finance, HR, healthcare, office work. Read it before you plan your next career move → iceberg.mit.edu/report.pdf

@talkswelizabeth True. One good agent that handles research + drafting = you suddenly have 10 extra hours a week to do the high-leverage stuff only humans can. Thanks for the reminder.

@vinaymishra1961 we believe it's about tasks, not full job. Roughly two-thirds of US occupations are exposed to some AI automation, but only 25-50% of their workload in most cases. As it seems now at least.

🔥 AI and Jobs: Is Your Career Safe? 🚨 Is your job safe? The speed of AI (Artificial Intelligence) is alarming. A Goldman Sachs report states that 300 million jobs worldwide are at risk. This threat is no longer distant, it's present. The question isn't when AI will arrive, but who it will affect first? 👇

That's hardly a debate. Let me show it with an analogy: You have two pilots: one who, on average, wins 7 out of 10 races and has completed 1000 races in his career. The other one that wins 9 out of 10 races, and has 875 races in his career. Which one would you say is best? It would be a debate if the second one had only run a few races in his career, so his stats could be lying in the long run. But when we are talking about both running over 800 races, there is no longer a debate. One just wins more than the other. BTW, in this analogy, the second also makes his team win more (> assists & > team thropies). You seem to have changed, you are more careful now, and in sensitive topics -or at least what online is showing as sensitive- you don't want to proclaim winners.

@jgrimesey For me its that I dont like Generative AI and a lot of people dont differentiate between GenAI and other AI systems. GenAI is a model built on theft that takes away creative jobs from people in favor of cheaper soulless slop AI should assist in doing a job not be the replacement

Spot on from the IT Secretary. India won’t win the foundation-model race, but we can own the “last-mile AI” game: thousands of small, sector-specific models on top of UPI/Aadhaar/DPI. That’s exactly where the new jobs (and global leverage) will come from.

IT Secretary S Krishnan urges IT-ITeS to build sectoral AI tech to create new jobs. Focus is on AI adoption for economic impact, despite large model development gaps. Digital public infrastructure is key for global influence.

…allowing you to be even better at your job and INCREASE your output. For example, in equity research, people see AI as a threat to analyst’s jobs because AI can summarize an earnings transcript and build a model. HOWEVER, I think the opposite. The value add of an analyst…

open.spotify.com/episode/0yT4ec… Jensen’s take on AI job disruption is spot on I think. If your job is the “task”, AI will likely be able to do that task more efficiently. If the “task” is a part of your job, AI will enhance your job as it can accomplish the mundane task…

The job market in 2025 is tough due to tech-driven overload. Per Business Insider data: average openings get 242 apps (3x more than 2017), giving ~0.4% success odds per app. Easy Apply tools and AI bots flood recruiters with resumes—500 per recruiter now, up 4x. Many are unqualified, leading to triage where most get ignored, like a "black hole." To improve chances: tailor apps, network, and target referrals.

@aaronfoellmi Love this take. The real win isn’t flashy agents doing everything; it’s quietly removing 2–3 hours of daily drudge work so people can think again. Oracle’s embedded approach feels like the most realistic path for most companies right now.
